Worst luck and/or misclicks you've had?

Far from something that wrecks my plans, but I hate that the Albatross Wing and the Amber-Crusted Fin share the same image. I’ve lost a good amount of money making accidental chimeras.

I remembered about this thread after failing a 48% check 12 times in a row!

waiting for the unsigned message for a good-while, finally discovered through a tip from someone here that you can use a favorable circumstance to draw it-did so…and than mis-clicked and dismissed the card. currently waiting on time the healer so I can force-draw it again.

if you happen to have enough Correspondence (from sending letters) or Notability (from Making Waves) you can also refresh Favourable Cirumstances earlier than Time the Healer.

i am aware-how ever, I have only 7 notability and not enough Correspondence. and besides, the week is nearly over.

This is one of my worst fears! Especially to dismiss it in times of great need!

yeah, it’s very annoying.

speaking of bad luck, guess who just pulled the card and then fails the challenge TWICE?!

hoping with you, friend. speaking of-what are you planning to upgrade to-and do you want me to send you a calling card? if you do, then kindly give me your in-game name.

Upgrade to… a little secret! A grind that I’m been working on for about 7 years! Almost there…

Sorry for missing that part! Too busy and split into multiple directions.

Of course! The name’s Skinnyman.

excellent! I will send the calling card shortly.

just now, i visited the sardonic singer and misclicked the “barrow moon-pearls” option…she was my charcters best friend.

Want to hear my suggestion? I hope there is an option to ‘tap twice’ to register a selection when playing on a mobile device. Because of sensitive touchscreens etc.

I believe some online chess websites have a similar feature when playing ranked games. To prevent oops moments resulting in a loss and a dropped ranking. However, dropped rankings can be regained. In Fallen London, the regrets might be forever.

-gets Rustygold for lodgings work,
-goes to sell at the bizarre,
-misclicks to merrigans exchange without noticing and buys more Rustygold,
-sells what I earned and what I accidentally bought
-still losses 30 echoes and the 13 actions I spent earning them.
-“ah, that’s not that bad”

  • does the exact same thing again in the same day*

I think we all know Fallen London RNG is extremely runny; perhaps the best way to pass low success rates is to buffer your actions on doing something else (and useful, hopefully). Using this, you can at least “predict” where your next roll’s gonna turn out. That’s how I got 450 scrap from gambling with the Relickers in, say 300 actions while also grinding out Underclay. (15 scrap/action.)

not that bad, but I accidentally made a statue of the Empress’s consort while trying to make my cabinet noir a couple days ago, which is funny to think about in character

I had a stupid, completely avoidable one yesterday night, and it didn’t even involve RNG. Pre-Quirk rework my Subtle was up to 12 and stayed there.

… Then I went to a party, clicked on the wrong option to address Sir Smythe. My Steadfast was unchanged, but now my Subtle has gone down to 11 with no way to boost it back up in the near future until I unlock the Railway, which is some ways off from me. I’ll just grit my teeth and wait for that one distant day I can grind it back up.
