Worst luck and/or misclicks you've had?

I’ve been having a string of rotten luck in Zenith, it’s growing to be really annoying.

Edit: For that matter, the Nadir has also proven uncooperative in dealing with the aftermath of the already disappointing Zenith visits.

In the Candlefinder case, the Case of the Missing Moll, you have to write a modest short story at one point to advance.

Well, my character took that as a challenge, and kind of overdid it…a little bit…

Only later I found out there is no difference in text or payout for excess Potential. You don’t even get a classic short story, just the same compelling short story as everyone else.

(Six would still do it again, though.)

I make the same mistake almost every Whitsun when trying to get another sealed copy of the crimson book. I tend to keep my notability around 7 and I forget that getting a vial of masters’ blood will take 7 levels away when doing the exchange with the Portly Sommelier. So I end up stuck at 0 until I can draw the Amanuensis card again. You can’t force draw it unless you already have 1 notability. Not that I really need the notability for anything else.

For some reason, I find it very easy to mess up at Whitsun – done it for the past three years. This time around, I wasted my free ha’pennies on a second parasol…

Playing on a phone or touchscreen?

For me, if there are important pivotal decisions to be made e.g. item purchases, one-time storyline choices, I select the entire chunk of text of that option, check wiki and inventory, think about it for a while, then make that option.

Best is open up Notepad and make notes of what you want to do. For example, for Whitsun 2027, my alt is going to buy that device for the third augmentation. Fruits of the Zee 2026, the alt will get that upgraded ship.

Event-specific stuff, location unlocking stuff, resource accumulation stuff.

Notability 8 is the sweet spot in this game.

For doing what you did, and maintaining Making Waves at 8 per week is reasonable.

Yeah, I have enough BDR to keep forcing the Amanuensis card to go from 1 to 7. That’s why I usually leave it there. I just keep forgetting to raise it one more level before getting the master’s blood.

@lienoth
Thanks for the offer, but I’ll draw him eventually. I’m already a Paramount Presence and have a tier 3 profession so its not like I need to get the notability back anyway.

Edit: Finally got him to show. Turns out its been so long since I last increased my notability that I didn’t realize that I have enough BDR that can I go from 1 to 9. Not sure why I settled on stopping at 7 before. Maybe because I liked the description better?

I tend to go for 8 because it’s the level at which An Unsigned Message is guaranteed to result in a surprise package. And I just love the randomness of the little loot boxes.

Actually 8 Notability gives 96% chance of Surprise Packages, you need 9 Notability for 100%.

I know. It’s enough.

I am one (1) CP away from maxing out my Renown: Criminals.

This will be a very expensive CP.

Delicious Friends,

be so kind and shoot me in my face. PLEASE!

You know, when you get a card for your Salon or Orphanage but Airs of London blow against you and/or you lack some resource required by that action that you really, REALLY want … So what? you keep this card and wait, like a cat for mouse, wait, wait, wait for the right combination of Airs and resources …

Eons pass, Luck won’t hear you, more eons …

And when - after SO MUCH TIME - you eventually see that Universe is blessing you …

Your hand trembles in emotion and

BL___Y H___L!! I HIT DISCARD!!!

#@*§é+$**!!!

Please, shoot.

Not the worst by far but still annoying to buy Fecund Amber instead of one more Vial at the Ratket because the most expensive option is now unavailable and you’re just clicking through reflexively because you have a lot of Rat Shillings to burn through.
