We're Gonna Need A Bigger Goat

First and foremost - do you notice anything peculiar, with two Overgoats in your inventory? And with one equipped?

Can’t say I do.

(It would have been too easy, wouldn’t it? T.T) One thing you could check: if you happen to draw the Overgoat Opportunity card, with the Overgoat equipped, hover the mouse over the Caprine Authority requirement. I think it should tell you how much you have in brackets, try checking if it is still at one. Then again, it’s just a wild guess :s

I don’t think an item will modify your stat unless you have it equipped. I mean, the option might unlock at Caprine Authority 1 and 2 Overgoats, but it’s not going to unlock at Caprine Authority 2, because then the only way to unlock it would be to equip two goats. Which is physically impossible, as you can only take one animal or human being with you at all times, spouses being the exception

so you’d have to… marry a goat???

Let’s not even get started on that one please XD

A goat companion, the key has finally been revealed!

What with the &quotTree of Ages&quot thing Alexis mentioned, wouldn’t be surprised if ownership of a Fairly Tame Sorrow Spider was involved. Or, ownership of several Fairly Tame Sorrow Spiders. Perhaps if you own several hundred of them you can make a council out of them.

Edit: Or perhaps you need to have caught one (or more?) Councils alive, for an exhibit in the Labyrinth. Doing so does grant a unique quality, after all. &quotExacting requirements&quot, and all that.

Okay, a single goat equipped and taken to every level of the Labyrinth reveals nothing. No options to do anything with a goat.

Bugger.

Seven is the number.

I think the mention of the Tree of Eyes might just have been Alexis firing off cryptic Sunless Sea references, much like all his other sorta-cleverly-hidden messages in posts in this thread
at least posts prior to the whole wiki drama thing, but you get what i mean

Hmm, in the fourth coil I do not in fact have an opportunity to use the formula of whatever, just “Pulling out the stops” and the four usual animals. I do possess the formula of whatever, it’s in my inventory, but maybe it’s no longer an option because I’ve finished the associated story?

The branches should just show up on Pulling out the stops, it’s not a seperate storylet of its own.
So presumably if twovergoat is the solution it’s something to do with the Overgoat opp card.

And nothing in the “other effects” choices for using Wild Words items does anything, so yeah, waiting for the card now.

There’s also a reference to “Tree of Ages” with a rare success while putting to Zee, that nets you a Primaevel Hint. Has anyone tried looking at those, like how you use such things to upgrade a Raven Advisor?

also i can confirm caprine authority goes away once you unequip your goat, so you need to have the goat equipped to use the options on the Overgoat opp card

I have the options to breed a beast in the Fourth Coil. I have three creatures that haven’t been bred, but I have the five critters you get once you do breed them.

Nothing green-clickable shows any new branches related to an Overgoat. (I decline to attempt them all for “other effects.”)

Here is the output of the CSV function of the wardrobe/cost userscript. edited to remove extraneous price data and K&C info just because: link to text file on Dropbox, if anyone really really likes pouring over lots of data for ideas.

After intensive searches with things like the HTML view, I have found that the Caprine Authority and Committed qualities given by items do NOT show on the as a quality when equipped.

And in that text file, I’m jealous now.

Joy, I’ve been playing this game for more than three years . . .

And that’s fine, but most of my jealousy is because I pauperized myself to get my Overgoat. And still trying to rebuild my fortune. So, yeah, jealous, and it doesn’t matter. :)[li]

On the goat subject, I’ve been going through the various items like Aeolian Screams and so on to see if there’s any options regarding the Goat, but so far there’s nothing.

Oh, I’m wondering if it would be profitable to compare the files and see if we could pinpoint the various requirements such as my soul is gone and that could have an effect.
