It’s worth saying that asking the Overgoat to go climb the Bazaar is ludicrously difficult now; i had watchful 259 thanks to a Mood card, and I still only managed to get 51% odds. And then I failed it. Twice. rip
What was the unique quality? I think I caught one and the only thing I got was rustygold. Maybe an increase to Arachnologist? But I don’t think it’s unique to that story.
That would be the "A Procurer of Savage Beasts" quality.
Other things mentioned before Alexis told us "You got it!": the Church connection beetle (kind of unlikely imo) and the address of a former prince of Hell.

It could be connection dependant. High connection to hell (goat associated with satanism) or Church.
I have
Connected: The Church ,22,Familiar
Connected: Hell ,54,A Whiff of Sulphur
Just went through all the options to breed a monster in the Fourth Coil. I have the lion, the hyenia and the hound. I don’t have the Seal. after getting it all to level 6, none of the options have anything dealing with the Overgoat. But there was a new option that I have never seen before. You have to have all four animals and under Fungus and Pious Wrath, there’s an option to sabotage the process if the bishop trusts you. Looking in the various online areas, it’s listed in the wikis as an option, but with NO information about choosing that option. The Wiki says that it’s fate-locked, but it’s not.
So, I’m stuck. I think I’ll go to zee again and get a seal and see if there’s something going on.

Getting all four animals requires the spending of Fate, ergo that option is also (ultimately) Fate-locked.
I highly doubt anybody is getting 7777777 goats any time soon.

What with the "Tree of Ages" thing Alexis mentioned, wouldn’t be surprised if ownership of a Fairly Tame Sorrow Spider was involved. Or, ownership of several Fairly Tame Sorrow Spiders. Perhaps if you own several hundred of them you can make a council out of them.
Edit: Or perhaps you need to have caught one (or more?) Councils alive, for an exhibit in the Labyrinth. Doing so does grant a unique quality, after all. "Exacting requirements", and all that.

You have no idea how devastated I am by this. Lo, those years ago, when I received my letter from Mr Inch, I thought it meant I just needed to wrap up the hunt I was on. I had no clue it meant I would lose all opportunity to finish hunting. That has tortured my completist soul to this day. I’ve been considering for the last week writing to FBG to beg for the possibility – even if it means Nex, as it does with playing through with Jack or one’s possible daughter – to assist Mr Inch once again. I still might, but I feel slightly more hopeless now that I see it could be relevant to future storylines. This is absolute torture.

Mood card? baffle dface
Mood cards are A Little Omen and A Dusty Bookshop which both give a temporary item, one for each main stat which you need to equip, they are very rare.

Update: Got back from zee with a plated seal, and sure as you know it, my "The Hunt is On" quality is gone. I still have the Thumping Devils and Train the Beast qualities, but I have to redo the poison section to get back to the quality I suspect will get me the Ubergoat. I’m crossing my fingers.
You know, 10 minutes is just a REALLY long time.[li]
EDITED TO ADD Okay, I didn’t know that Sabotaging quality was one that had always been there.
So that leaves us the same place. Anyone have any thoughts?

I think the only probable thing left is “An option unlocked with two goats on the Overgoat opp card” and if that ends up not being it then i have no idea
maybe the goat never happen
then who was goat???
then who was goat???
"John, you are the demons.”
And then John was an Übergoat.
[/li]You are right. I did the sabotage and lost ALL FOUR of the creatures… And got a single portfolio of souls. Not worth it I say. [li]
But I was also "unlucky" instead of a fortunate result. So… now I have to get all four back again. Stinks.
So now I"m out of ideas.
- The logical place to get a new creature as hinted at by Alexis is the Fourth Coil. [/li][li]equiping the goat is not enough apparently[/li][li]simply having connections to Hell and the Church is not enough.[/li][li]I have NOT gotten the Overgoat card yet, so I can’t look at options there yet.[/li][li]There isn’t anything in the Iron Republic or in the Fourth Coil itself.[/li][li]Apparently having two goats isn’t enough either[/li][li]There seems to be no way to breed them together
So I’m out of ideas.
In Alexis’s estimation, Tommy’s acquisition of two Overgoats amounted to no more than ‘respectably goaty striving’. I infer that a) the more Overgoats, the goatier is one’s striving, so we’re on the right track and b) since ‘respectably goaty’ is less superlative than ‘goatiest’, two is not sufficient.
So… is there a striver so goaty and so flush as to buy three Overgoats? I will gladly send them a Starveling Cat and such rats as I can spare for the cause.

I think it is a little premature for people to think about buying three Overgoats when, as far as I know, no-one with two has seen the opportunity card yet. (Am I the only one foolish enough to have two? Well, I’m flipping cards as fast as I can.)
VICTORY.
Two Overgoats, one Overgoat opportunity card, 1 Fate.

Now on my mantelpiece.
Well balls, I almost have my first Overgoat, and here I was hoping I could get an Ubergoat before too long. I guess it will take me another year. :( And then Mr. Eaten will probably eat him anyway :(
