We're Gonna Need A Bigger Goat

I think we now know that the overgoat must be equipped, not just available.

Edited for clarity.

You’re not supposed to tell lies about video games, it is illegal.
I think we now know that the overgoat must be equipped, not just available.
I doubt this, unless Alexis contrived that after adding Caprine Authority. Storynexus branches have no way of knowing if you have a particular item equipped unless it gives a unique quality.
Clue Dispenser is cool. But unfortunately does not seem to contain any clues…
I think we should consider ourselves lucky Storynexus doesn’t support Rick-rolling.

I only sincerely hope all this doesn’t require another Overgoat grind, the first one was a royal pain. But Alexis himself said that the requirements are &quotpretty exacting&quot T.T

I think the first thing I’ll do will be to try to equip the Overgoat as soon as his card appears, just to see if there are any changes. It would probably be best to keep it equipped at all times, but it kinda conflicts with my current stat grinding (I’m maxing out Shadowy and Dangerous right now, I usually only grind Watchful at zee).

Hm, if you need it equipped, that does poke a hole in the multiple overgoats theory – you can’t equip multiple overgoats at once. Or can you?

Apparently someone’s already said the correct answer in this thread, though, so we just have to narrow it down.

Ergo, two goats. Two goats.

Or maybe you need one equipped and one in storage.[li]

Also, wow, this thread updates fast.

It’s the charm of mystery solving, no matter how trivial or shaggydoggal it can be (and finding a +3 Watchful pet is ALL but trivial XD)

The Shaggy Dog! The Shaggy Dog! Born of an Overgoat and an Ocular Frog!

The Overgoat options in Overgoat card requires “Caprine Authority” instead of Overgoat itself… but it seems bugged, as Even though I had Overgoat equipped, there were no Caprine Authority stat for me, leading me to waste it.

The übergoat has Caprine Authority2, making it TWICE as goats and authority

Alexis is as capricious as one of his goats, the quality probably does nothing.

…besides the abovementioned stuff.

Now, everyone better start pray for me and turn that cookie oven red-hot, because I shall purchase second overgoat when That card reappears and when I am right I shall demand cookies. Cookies go well with milk.[li]

Also, even though I re-equipped my goat, nothing happened. Is it bugged?

I’ll verify as soon as I get an Overgoat card… As it’s always the case, as soon as you start waiting for a card, it disappears (Should we call it Kennedy’s Law? XD)

Dawn Machine? I’m sure I’ve seen that mentioned somewhere recently and not just as part of Sunless Sea.

BTW it is worth highlighting ALL Alexis’ messages. He’s sneaky (in a good way!)[li]

Edit to add Something to do with the Forgotten Quarter?

The übergoat is a goat which has found its sea legs. It is the Goat of the Seas.

…Highlighting the messages is confusing me more than it is enlightening, maybe it’s better if I just stop. I’m already feeling stupid T.T

I’m past this but knew it rang a bell. It was part of the Investigation at the University

A matter of spiders
Did you read it in some weighty book on cryptoarachnology, or was it the rant of a beggar in the Flit? Why does the phrase ‘tree of ages’ come to mind? No matter…

My, that’s some memory! On a related but different matter, why have the descriptions of cards on the wiki been cut short? I understand the need to avoid spoilers and to not provide a substitute for direct gaming, but there’s a whole score of storylets that I played that I don’t remember at all, and I have no way to retrieve - I made screens of some, but I can’t keep backup of every storyline, it would become a chore more than a game T.T
