The London Horticultural Show is here!

I found it by entering “Encounter the Viscountess”

I love Sinning Jenny, but I lack the resources required to help her e.g. biscuits.

Therefore, offering rousing speeches is all I can do for now.

Rubbery skull? That makes a fine mantelpiece.

I’m sure the people maintaining the field hospital are relived.

I’m sure we can all see the writing on the wall, the event will advance in a couple of hours at the pace we are going (during which I should be sleeping. Only time will tell if I Surrender my Health to be at the forefront of the action) BUT! We need to be sure that ruin is at zero before too many people advance to reasonably get it back down. We don’t want to miss out on that unique item that we are being promised after all! So consider staying back and fixing London for a bit before moving on right when it becomes available.

we should already meet the requirements for that item, i think. i know i’ve seen london’s ruin at 0 at least twice now.

Quick question: what happens to the unused ‘Service to London’ when we move to the next phase or when the event ends?

did the time for collecting / turning in clues end while I was at zee, or am I missing something re the clue at Mangrove college?

poss relevant: I have A Synthetic Philosopher 7 & The Mushroom’s Dream 2000

No, I still have the option to turn in clues.

With most festivals there’s a grace period to redeem the rewards after the end of the event.

And, the next phase begins. We can still get Service to London by helping Tend London’s Wounds, but there is no more defense to be needed. Wondering whether it’s anything we do, or just time, that will enable communication with the prisoners.

Next phase is in Monday. Chill, or grind Service.

Have there been any hints the rewards list will be expanded, on discord or elsewhere. I am at 150k service and wondering if it’s worth keeping going for something that can be converted to scrip, either directly or via rat market.

The bold text is still there saying

More opportunities to spend – and earn – Service to London will arise throughout the event.

Seems like it might make sense for me to hold off on advancing the event so I can keep grinding service via combat?

Any reason to keep grinding for Service to London? What other items are going to be available, how much to get them?

My belief is those additional opportunities to spend and earn StL have already happened. Recall that many weren’t available at the start of the event i.e. immediately after the ‘opening ceremony’.

Well, the EPA of service gain on its own is decent, but I’m hopeful there will still be some other things to spend it on. Having no properly scrip-convertible options to cash in the event points would really suck and be a huge step back from last summer, I hope the devs know their player base’s wishes better than that.

Last year, you could purchase a unique equipment item for 20000 and a previously retired mantelpiece item for 31200 - I expect that something in that range will be added eventually.

In addition, after some events at least if you retained any of quality X after the deadline for turning it in for rewards, it would transform into quality Y. Wonder if that will be done here?

Now, 14 hours after your post, anna, there no longer seems to be the opportunity to turn in clues.

I still have a place to turn in Clues, via The War in London > Report to the Admiralty > Share some information of your own. I haven’t clicked on The Amber Tide, Turned yet, though, so maybe progressing the story locks it away? None of the requirements I’m seeing would prevent it, but there might be an invisible one.

There’s an unintuitive background quality called something like Progressing Towards A Fungal Dream that ticks up by 1 every time you sell a concoction, up to a maximum of 7. And if you arrive at Mangrove with 7 Progressing, it resets and gives you 1 x Fungal Dream to be redeemed at " Exploring the Mangrove College". The unintuitive part is that you’ll have to make 7 concoctions, then leave Mangrove, then come back; you can only cash out the next time you’re there. Usually you’ll get some Wild Words goodies, but this time you can instead pick the Clue.

The game instructions for Amber Tide, Turned explicitly state that you won’t be able to turn in any more clues, and the option is locked if you have found clues that you haven’t turned in to the Admiral. I’m not sure about the specifics, but it seems that clicking that button is jumping off a cliff to the next stage.

Said next stage basically won’t start until Monday. Right now advancing only locks you out of actions, but doesn’t open up no actions yet. Mechanically, it makes no sense to advance for another day and a half. (That said, I did it anyways.)
