As a POSI less than 4 months into Neath, my Base Watchful is not high enough for me to build the railroad, the University Carousel is still on its first lap, the Submarine is still docked and never sailed, and the Parabolan War never started.
I have currently completed Mrs. Plenty’s Festival, Mrs. Chapman’s Boarding House, Forgotten Quarter, the Rubbery Men card, Underclay.
Laboratory Research has grown to 126 (Equipment is only 5, progress is very slow), and waiting for the weather card.
Even if I killed myself right away and got a point from the boatman, it would be too hard for me to complete the 10 clue, requiring too many action points.
Consider pausing experimentation and concentrating on grinding Service. Compared with the vanity quality, Echo may be more realistic to the current me.
So London’s Ruin seems to have hit zero for me just now. I don’t see it in the Menaces bar. What now?
Edit: I should add that all of Jenny’s recovery options are still available.
London’s Ruin oscillates above zero, because it’s still raising both naturally and for the actions of the players fighting the Starved Men.
And the Defense of London is still only at 11% of the target - the war isn’t over yet.
Anyone have an Echo of the Rubbery Clue?
I think blaming hardcore / multi-account players for shortening event is unfounded. Plant growing phase was timed by FBG. Pleading phase is not, but all people missed a few refusing results (they still could see some before manually changing phase). Now, in clue phase, we have to build up massive amount of “Defense of London”, which is clearly too big for few hundreds of hardcore players to sway. It would not move on until majority of players finish with clues and start dumping their actions into defense.
This one was quite short actually! FBG stated that 90% of their player base resides in the USA and the 3 parties that don’t participate were cut quite fast during the waking hours of the States.
But, to be honest, nothing interesting from them. What else can you expect from Hell, Masters and the Palace?
This was the most interesting bit and it’ was ambition gated: https://www.reddit.com/r/fallenlondon/comments/15fc9m1/mr_cards_option_for_the_bazaarsixth_city_here_we/
I don’t have the card one, but I can help with the Flute Street echo.
The last clue has yet to be found, but here are some tips regarding the location:
- it is currently available in the game, though likely not to a starting character
- it is not in one of the 4 starting areas or Wolfstack Docks, per bruno.
- it is not in a place which already has a clue.
- its unlock requirements are in line with the others, so it may require a quality not all players have or having played a fate story
- it’s in a location you can return from, so not, for example, the Seeking endings
- it is in fallen london proper. not some access code or other game shenanigans.
Yeah, this. Start fighting!
Is there are anything else to go on, except last year, that suggests the number of clues turned in might offer a vanity quality and that the target for it is 10 clues? I’m particularly keen on official information that has yet to make its way to this thread, I know FBG sometimes communicate a tad more on Discord than here.
Is there a trick to diving? Didn’t see anything worldqual-related on two runs.
you need to visit the light in exile.
You have to dive to the lowest level and then visit the light in the darkness
Go and gather clues that require more AP! Did this last year and I plan to do so this year!
Some general tips:
- Use favorable circumstances to force draw the rubbery card, but remember you need 1 favour too. If TtH hits or will hit, you can use both FavCirc for both favour and clue
- If you’re going for Irem clue and are still behind with Evolution, use this opportunity to get the piracy clue, the Godfall and Cecil (this requires the map from Evolution so do it after that step). Chaining these will help you save some AP in the run.
- While navigating, if you’re done with a trip and are in the E, maybe you’ll get lucky and draw Becalmed card. Fast trip to London and extra wounds for the Slow Boat clue.
Thanks to all for quick replies to my previous question!
Regarding the 20th clue: Secrets and Spending was a storyline/ progression thing that I vaguely remember doing a long time ago and ignoring completely after having gotten all unique items. I see it isn’t on the list for either checked or needing to be checked. Maybe we should look there as well, at the opportunity cards, and the constant storylets to raise counting the days, and especially at the conclusion/reward opp card?
Or maybe we should consider doing some of the things we’ve already tried through characters that have the rubbery euphonium chosen in a pretty early game story? (I don’t)
Also item conversion actions maybe?
Zolana checked it this morning and there was nothing there.
What is the clue text for the one that hasn’t been cracked?
We don’t have the clue text for the 20th one. In the admiralty storylet, there are only 19 hints available about where the clues might be.
I finished nine clues (Mrs Chapman’s, Circus, Expedition, Underclay, Rubbery card, University research, Nadir, Godfall pilgrimage, Evenlode diving), figured out that Helicon House is too hard as I need Shapeling Studies level 1 and unlocking the Below Stairs.
Therefore, for the 10th and final clue for me, I will die and get the Slow Boat card.
It was nice meeting the Admiral Lackey at the Helicon House though. At the cost of a Surface Bloom and some actions.
