I’m encheesed (becheesed?) as well: Fallen London
To me, “encheesed” sounds more like a Latin root so I would use it if the Hellworm Cheese ends up resembling a Brie or a Camembert. Whereas I would say one is becheesed by something like a Cheddar.
One would first expect something like a Cheddar, what with this being London and the explicit mention of a ripening cave. But it seems that some French cheeses (notably Roquefort) are also cave-ripened. And the Questionable Cheesemonger may or may not be related to the Effervescent Charcutier (or just the same guy in a wig), and he seems to specialize in a French style of food. So we’ll see.
Hi, I only just discovered this thread after getting my boots! I don’t have an echo for when I got Helly the Hellworm (named just now) but I do have an echo for when I saddled it (01 March, 2022) and also an echo for when I bought the boots (07 July, 2022). I think you can use December 25 2021 for when I got my Hellworm, it should have been around then. Here is my profile and thanks in advance! Fallen London
Congratulations to yourself and Helly! Yours are only the second pair of Riding Boots on record, so enjoy your distinguished and rarified style and elegance.
Looking at all these fine folks who have attained saddlehood AND bootdom, the agony of being ALMOST 3/4s of the way through has never felt sharper. My financial responsibility for tossing money for the purpose of a few extra actions is at war with my need for scrip.
While I, sadly, continue to ride Shank’s Hellworm.
I am still waiting for elusive bird week to get the boots. Knowing how FL RNG usually works, it will be most inconvenient week, full of new content, like summer festival…
I feel your pain. I waited five months for Bird Week, only to realize that I had nowhere near enough actions to put brass skulls on all the Bouquets of Eight Spines that I had accumulated.
My friends, sadly i am still far away from having my own hellworm. I won’t lie, the bonegrind of brass lollipops is kinda wearing me down.
Is there any place outside of the wiki that has some scrip-farming techniques that i may not be aware of?
The reason I obtained Rocinante when I did is because I gave in to my frustration and burned down the Bone Market for two and a half years. This only got me about one-third of the total cost, but it was the last third, so it was totally worth it. Considering the frustration other players are having with the Bone Market, I’m pretty satisfied with my choice to leave it a pile of ashes.
If you want to follow in my footsteps, it still takes some lengthy prep but we’re talking weeks instead of months. For 50k scrip, you’ll need probably around 6k amber and a few dozen Helical Thighbones. The former, of course, come from the Bone Market itself. The latter, in my experience, are best obtained via Paleontological Discoveries.
R Fellow Oswho now owns a Hellworm.
However, to this:
Your Hellworm MUST have a name. It need not be named in-game (especially if it’s in the Transport slot), but you need to love and adore your Hellworm, which you can only do if you name it.
… I completely refuse. To me, my Hellworm is nothing more than a tiny icon in a video-game, with some profitable game mechanics attached. I do not love and adore it, at least not as an imaginary pet; I merely enjoy its utility as an item in a video game, and am pleased that I successfully grinded for it. Since you demanded so imperiously that I give a name to it, I will be doing nothing of the sort. * huff! *
You could call it “No Name” or “Nameless” or even “Hellworm”.
I respect your opinion, if for no other reason than you hold it strongly enough to say all that. I have invented a compromise which I hope you’ll accept.
Weakling. In response you should demand not only to name the worm, but also boots and polish.
tongue in cheek
Amalgamea Galatea is the name of my Hellworm. Thank you!
I have acquired a Hellworm and named it Gehelminth.

I am quite sure that the dev responsible for Hellworms would be quite pleased with the name your new friend has taken.
