What’s that? An unusual name, you say? I suppose it is. If you’ll permit me a moment of honesty, an uncharitable type might say I’m little more than an up-jumped urchin myself, though I prefer ‘self-made.’ You see, my name was not bestowed on me by a doting parent but rather by an irate shopkeeper from whom I had "borrowed" a crust of bread when I wrongly believed him distracted by the passage of particularly pungent dung cart. Indeed, his throaty yowl is my earliest memory. I was nearly a man grown before I understood the meaning of the epithet, and by then far too accustomed to dream of changing it. It has a certain ring, no? Perhaps one day I’ll choose a surname, but the mononym has served me this long; I’ll not be rushed simply for respectability’s sake.
Ah, there I go nattering on again. I’ll take no more of your time, but do please call at your leisure. I am new to the 'neath and so readily available for chess or coffee, or even a bit of mischief. Don’t be a stranger. Or do, but come anyway.

I’ve been in the Neath for only a month now, but I’m getting along just fine. It certainly is better than some places I’ve been before. I’m not going to name them, I’m not that obtuse!
My stay so far has been quite pleasant, and I hope it continues to be so. Do come by and visit! If you ever need some help, I’ll be happy to offer… For a price.
It occurs to me that I’ve been around for a little while now, but I have yet to introduce myself. I go by lostdrewid on the forum and in-game, and by Michael in person. {Please, never Mike.} I’m not entirely sure what lostdrewid’s real name is in Fallen London; I’m fairly certain she’s actually female in sex if not in gender, so I doubt she shares my name nods sagely But then, real names aren’t in vogue in the Neath, so the point is moot.
I would like to say that I’ve begun making waves on the forum, but it’s probably more accurate to say that I am playing splashy splashy [which everyone knows to be the aquatic equivalent of "would you like a cup of coffee?"] in the shallow end.

New here. Found Fallen London after trying Sunless sea. I adored the Lovecraft-esque style lore and the focus on the storytelling elements as to why I’m here.

Thought it has come to my attention that eventually I would need to show myself so here I am. Hey, just wanted to say hello. I once had a character with some progress but decided to start again and now have a lot less progress, though, but didn’t play for a long time but just started again, after playing Sunless Sea. I can’t remember much of all the story I explored so far, but as the FAQ says I will press on. :)

Hello everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself a bit. I’m Cath and I’m from the Netherlands. I currently live in Luxembourg, but I’ll be moving back home very soon. I know about the game since yesterday and I’m already addicted. I’m looking forward to playing even more.
Good evening, comrades. I’m Agent S7–though I’m not really the agent of anyone in particular, and I’m more fond of playing this great game than that other Great Game. I’ve been playing Fallen London for a couple years now, on and off, and I figured it was about time I jumped into the forums. Haven’t been part of a fandom in a quite a while, to be honest–the things tend to be a lot less solid these days, now that everybody’s moving to Facebarking or Tweeters or Tumblogs. Thing is, I’m a massive fan of literature, wit, history, and the like, so it was only a matter of time before I finally caved and joined a community of folks with similar interests.
As for the otherAgent S7, he’s not the most upstanding citizen in the Neath. Plays with reforming the police, sure, but he also stages regularly heists on the Brass Embassy and the Masters. The man has the gumption to associate with Revolutionaries, with the vain hope that saner leaders will prevail over more unique elements of the movement. And that’s not even touching the way he uses and disposes of all connections, all people, all things in pursuit of single-minded vengeance on the ones who took away his love.
As for who he is an Agent of, I can only speculate. Did he once work for a power on the Surface? Or did he read far too many spy novels?
At any rate, Agent S7 and I–whichever one of us wrote this post–are going to hang out here for a bit. Meet some cool folks. Perhaps solve a few Enigmas. And probably drop this over-the-top meta tone in favor of something quite a bit goofier. It’s just…so hard to resist, you guys. It’s much too fun being dramatic. :P

Good Evening, I am Josh, completely new to Fallen London and brought here by Sunless Sea (absolutely love both games).
As a lover of books and video games, your work scratches both itches at the same time. More specifically as a previous poster said, I am a big fan of Lovecraft’s writing and this really seems to evoke the style I loved so much from his books. (A massive complement coming from me)
I’m Cryptix23 (what happened to the other 22? Well, uh LOOK A THREE-HEADED MONKEY). I’m a few days into Fallen London after a post about it caught my attention. Gaslamp horror/fantasy yesplz. So far my only complaint is the actions system, and only because I wanna do stuuuuff!
I cycle through various interests and pursuits, mostly literary or artistic and primarily concerning storytelling. Right now I’m big on older mysteries and pulp novels, more specifically anything to do with The Shadow or Sherlock Holmes.
That being said, it should be no surprise whatever that Fallen London’s Cryptix is sort of a self-styled vigilante detective, eager to make connections, reform the police force, punish those who take advantage of or harm others and to help those that deserve helping. Delving deeper into politics, history, and the Great Game is also on the agenda. In the meantime, she has a soft spot for cats and ravens, sometimes thinks fondly of the Last Constable, and pens the occasional penny dreadful. Her biggest quandary is becoming appropriately Shadowy without committing crimes against the innocent (crimes against the guilty are another matter – there’s only room for so much morality if you’re to get anywhere around here.)
Looking forward to spending entirely too much time in this little world.

I have been playing Fallen London for a few years now and have finally decided that I have a need for more player interaction.
Outside of Fallen London I enjoy: video games, Role-Playing Games (D&D and VtM LARP), reading, most music (though cannot understand rap and country genres), cooking, being with my family (2 wonderful boys) and the occasional TV watching (forgive me, as I only use Netflix and Hulu so most references about things not on those go right over my head).

I am Khedi, a sly pickpocket who is as curious as a cat. Well, my name means ‘Cat’ in Turkish, though the proper spelling would be Kedi.
I’ve been playing the game for a week or so, I quite like it so far! The atmosphere, storywriting, art, nearly everything is really amazing.
