Good day. Or night, as the case may be. So hard to tell.
While I’ve played on-and-off for years, it’s only now that I’m truly delving into the Neath’s mysteries. Being a person of some importance opens many doors, and the recent destiny buzz is intensely interesting and making me sad I missed it.
Oh well. All will be well and all manner of thing will be well. There will be new opportunities.
As for my character… Well. Perhaps your average Vake-Hunter, presuming Vake-Hunters often get direly distracted by mysteries. The reward is an afterthought these days. It’s curiosity that’s driving him now, curiosity and paranoia.
He mislikes being used and ignorance of what’s really going on. And knowledge is power besides.
Except the Name. He’s not foolish enough for that. Not right now, anyway. edited by Conil on 7/20/2014
Howdy,
Or shall I say baaaa? My name is Goat. I’m a bio student in college right now, and part time delver into the world of London. Always looking for people to know on here, as my less online-y friends aren’t too into things of this nature. Hit me up with any ideas offers or hellos. I’m all ears and a bit of an insomniac so all hands from the dark are welcome.
Also, I’ve done a little rp in my time so I’m up for that as well.
Good day, I am a newcomer to London. IRL, I am a teacher, writer, and musician who spends too much time playing and studying games. The announcement of Sunless Sea has gotten me into Fallen London, and they are both great.
IC, Jabberwok is a rather deranged poet of the Nocturnal school, with a penchant for trouble and a honey addiction; intriguing to the slummers of Veilgarden for his/her shady appearance and associations. A soft, raspy voice beneath those rags has led some to question if he/she should not have been shipped off to Venderbight years ago.
I am partly here because I can’t figure out how to view the profiles of my friends, and a cursory search did me no good. Can anyone tell me how I can do this? edited by Jabberwok on 7/20/2014

The Fallen London Name can be seen on the Myself tab in-game, and changed for 15 Nex by clicking on the name. edited by Aximillio on 7/20/2014[/quote]
Thanks, that seems to be working for one of my friends but not the other, maybe because their login name is different from their character name. It just redirects me to the game itself for some reason. I guess I thought there would be a link to their profiles somewhere in the Myself tab. I know I can view Mantelpieces through the ‘Who else is here?’ window, but…yeah…
The easy way would probably to go to your lodgings and, under the “write a letter” storlyet choose the one that costs 1 penny. This will give you a drop-down bar that shows all your friends. Otherwise you can hit the settings button on the messages tab and look on the right side. (this has the bonus of showing only Fallen London Names, not Storynexus names)
Greetings and Salutations.
After enjoying Fallen London for over two weeks now, I feel it is time to introduce myself.
I am in my mid twenties and live in Germany. English is not my native tongue, but I’m willing to learn, and this game gives me enough opportunities to do so. (I have to admit, that I check a dictionary frequently while playing. But I have fun learning all these new words^^)
I was never really into browser games, but I heard this one is different… and has some kind of "Lovecraftian" feeling to it.
Well, I tried it and was pleasantly surprised. I’m really enoying it so far and read with delight through all the text and rich stories it throws at me. Even when you fail a challenge it is entertaing to read the message you get. Big compliments to everyone that was involved in creating this.
As for my in-game character … well, he or she doesn’t really got that much of a backstory. I like to build one up as I play.
In short he or she is an opportunist that likes to approach things more indirectly. Not necessary malicious, but mostly looking for personal benefits. Still a bit ingenuous when it comes to certain things. Beeing of a curious nature, Snark likes sticking her/his nose into all kind of things …and honey pots. Not so much the gentlemanish type, since she/he comes more or less from the gutter, but still somewhat friendly.
Uhm, yes, thats enough for now. I spell checked this now for about seven times, it is a bit late here.
I’m looking forward to discover the mysteries of the Neath or loosing my mind while trying so.
Hello! My name is Macy. Above ground, I’m a Biology student in the Midwest US, with a love of animated movies, amateur science, reading, and wine. I’ve played Fallen London about a year ago, but I recently thought it’d be fun to start up again and get a bit further than my last venture! That, and I never bothered to check the forums with my last go. So here I am!
Below, Macy Grey is a rather pathetically easily-distracted thief, but incredibly talented acrobat. In between the quest to find her-long-lost Mum (and the mom’s acquaintance sitting on a diamond of some importance), she can be found flirting with tomb colonists, fumbling with ill-gotten goods, and generally trying to prove herself to be a Person of Some Importance.
Hmmm…I can’t believe I have never actually clicked on this thread before, until now. Not even my 5 active FL accounts could keep me busy! I must really love this game…
Well, on with the intro. I’m Weiwei, a 26-year-old investment analyst from China. I started playing FL in early 2013. So, not really a veteran player yet. The way I discovered FL was probably quite unusual though: through an excellent James Bond (/Silva) fanfic linked below (Warning: Mature content! NSFW)
Anyway, so I stumbled upon the great Fallen London and had been playing since (except for a stupid hiatus during Hallowmas which I deeply regret). Sometimes I just can’t wait for the actions to fill (even with subscription) and I created extra accounts. Bought Sunless Sea but didn’t like it. I think FL is the only game I enjoy. It’s such a vast world, plus I adore the steampunk feel to it.
I love the fact that this game has an active and interesting developer-supported forum. Almost everyone contributes a little to the game world. The plotlines and writings are outstanding!
Ahem… sorry for the gushing. Lost track. Just, eh, hi everyone! waves and grins embarassingly
Shall we play? return to world
I’m progressive reactionary, therefore I’m not into internet friendship and fake social interactions (Hello Mr Face and Mrs Tweet), but I’m civilised enough to think it would be polite to still introduce myself. Who am I is mostly irrelevant, let’s just say I like living, writing, and reading stories. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be here, would I?
I make a habit of role-playing in every single game I play, and most of the time in a relatively strict way, so if you want to know more about this good Miklos Szczerbiak, you’ll have to ask him directly (or take a hint on his profile, which I try to keep clean and somewhat relevant). I don’t want to be his lackey, do I?
That said, I think it is obvious that I’m not a native speaker, so please forgive any inappropriate language you might run into while reading me (not him, though). If you’re not too frightened by the idea of being corrupted by a marginal bright-minded person and what he and his tortuous mind may have given birth to, feel free to endeavour to interact with him if you have some role-playing intentions, it would be a pleasure. Sincerely.
Good evening… only just found the forums :-) Anthony from Yorkshire, England… Charity Chief Exec just entering my 40s and still hanging onto youth desperately. been playing for several months and enjoying myself enormously but have found the game a trifle lonely… not really worked out how to interact with other players (makes it quite real in a way). Hope to get to know some of you soon.
Standard procrastination leads to things that burn way too much time (also something to do with Sunless Sea I think). Although I’m glad it happened to be this. Short of the action point wall, this is probably as close to going back to Mudding as I’ll ever get.
It’s finally time to introduce, I think. I’m a sciencey sort with broad interests.
Ymrid was originally intended to be the result of a high-speed collision between George Smiley and John Maynard Keynes, but his evolution has turned out to be hard to predict. He’s definitely open to all kinds of interactions with all kinds of people, though.
Good evening. I found out about fallen london awhile ago but never had the chance to join up in the conversation here until now. I have to say, the commute in life suddenly become a lot more interesting ever since I started traveling in the streets of the city.
Hope to have Much more interesting conversation on here soon.
What’s this now? All this time in the city and I continue to find surprises. I came here seeking information and find a most delightful conversation. I am Santiago. 'Tis a pleasure to meet you.
