The Game of Knife and Candle

I have a 3-card lodging, how do I join the moon league?

Corvo: get a token from the Singing Mandrake thread if you don’t already have one, or pay Fate at Watchmaker’s Hill, then head to storylet in Watchmaker’s Hill that takes to you to the Cottage and join the Moon League from there.

Feedback: if Moon League hunts become consensual, I will be very pleased, as I apparently have horrible luck at picking opponents who are actually AROUND. I ditched my first after 24 hours of no response; I’ll give this one 36, but it’s kind of feast or famine between the nothing-happening here and the WAY TOO MUCH of the Iron Leagues.

Agreed, it can be rather difficult to find an opponent who is available. Funnier still is when you wait for an opponent to respond to your move, only to have them withdraw. Is the only real difference between Moon and Iron the mechanics of play? Is there a reason to remain in one league or the other outside of personal preference? I know there are silver tokens in both. The reason I ask is because I’ve had luck bouncing back and forth between the two, spending time fighting in Moon and building up attack cards/sense of urgency, and then bouncing to Iron, unleashing a few quick bouts, then bouncing back to moon. It’s been fairly effective, and if it was intentional it’s a pretty fun, but I imagine it is probably frustrating for iron leaguers to get guerilla’d and try to retaliate only to find the culprit back in moon, formless and safe. Yeah it costs your form, but if you play carefully, you will make a silv token profit, and escape unscathed.

In a way, it’s like two modes of play: A battle royale, and strategic duel. I rather like it. But is it fair? I don’t know. But it’s effective, at least so far

Interesting. I wake up to find the forums redone and a certain topic on a certain agreement disappeared. Not even a crumb remains, as far as I can tell.

Ah, I believe our pact has been relocated to the mandrake.

Oh, that makes far more sense. Thanks.

Laudanum does that. You might want to head North.[li]

Also, in case there needed to be another vote in favor of an auto-generated K&C contact list that could be used only for playing K&C, here it is, as I watch those cute little eyes blink, and blink, and blink some more . . . as the system attempts to determine who, out of my extravagant contacts list, I may ship potential cat-boxes to.

I’m curious, is there actually a tournament going on?

I just updated my ‘Friends List’ straight from the FAQ… Took me over 20 minutes; there are 203 people on there now.

Between the various iterations of the K&C FAQ (which I have been updating regularly) and passing cats, I have over 390.

How do I choose a form? And to attack someone, I need to add someone who is already on the moon’s league?

You can change your form on the various cards (Dusty Bookshop, Soft-hearted Widow, 4-card Lodgings cards, Implausible Penance, Little Omen, and the Polite Invitation), or with a Sense of Urgency. You’ll receive a Sense of Urgency with your daily token delivery. Then you can attack anyone on your contact list who is in London, not engaged in a duel, and is in the Moon League.

Hmmm ok, thanks. Does the lair in the marshes allow me to change form?

Nope. You go there to do other stuff. :) Check it out, it’s action free to look.

I meant the house Sara, the one you buy with maniac prayers, but I will check it

EDIT: http://fallenlondon.storynexus.com/Profile/Raaret If you are still confused at what I mean, look at the house I own there, thanks you kindly Sara :)

Nope, the lodgings related to K&C are the ones that allow you to hold 4 opportunity cards in hand:
A guest room at the Brass Embassy
A Room at the Royal Bethlehem Hotel
Premises at the Bazaar

Ouch!

Did you just finish calculating the cost of those estates? ;)

Give the Moon League a whirl.
