Looking for people to trade with. I happen to have far too much Fate on my hands, which I suppose I could use for this. Please, my darlings, you must know I love only you.

Are the inter-player actions needed to finish the feast of the roses? I have Been playing Fallen London for a while now, but have yet to make any friends in the community; if the the festival benefits enough from that then I suppose there is no time better than now to introduce myself.
Last year I managed to get quite enough Masquing just by playing The Feast of the Rose! card (Ubiquitous frequency), so gifts weren’t needed for any of the 3 or 10 Masquing companions. This year it seems gifts can add 10 points above the 20 points one can get from the card, which would be quite helpful when trying to get one of the companions that cost 40, 60, 80, or 100 Masquing. Thus you really only need friends if you want one of those indirectly Fate-locked companions.
Also, paying 10 Echoes per point of Masquing from a gift is consequently only worth it if you want to help someone get Fate-locked companions, or if the recipient has serious trouble drawing the feast-card. Otherwise it saves a lot of resources to just play the feast-card, and a few of the options are quite profitable even without the Masquing. Still, I suppose it can be fun to send expensive gifts to people. Not everything has to be about the Echoes, right? The Pink-painted Cat may cost 30 Echoes for 2 points of Masquing, but come on, it’s a Pink-painted Cat that’s also a pet! :)
I’ll be saving my precious Fate for more important things though. Much like the last feast. I’m a miser without a moon.
Yes, I noticed that the amount of Masquing one can get from non-Fate things has been bumped, which is much appreciated! Thanks for the breakdown.
I don’t have any fate and have a number of Feast Companions from previous years (and gifts I didn’t cash in last year) so I don’t think I will be taking part in gift giving this year. I hope every one else has fun.
Having missed the feast last year, I, http://fallenlondon.storynexus.com/Profile/chartinboy - Would be pleased to send and receive gifts from any and all of you delicious, I mean delightful, people.
Happy to be for the first time in this event. I’ve just started playing last week so any acquaintance is welcome:
Both hwoosh and R Fellow Oswho would be delighted to exchange gifts and favours with amicable acquaintances new and old.
Oh, I would very much enjoy trading gifts, but fate is scarce so I don’t think I’ll use it on this feast. But the other gifts are also delightful, so I will be delighted to give and receive them!
Colin Sapherson loves Londoners and would be willing to show this affection this season. Fateful gifts are possible, as are the more regular, but still baroque ones.
Oh, wait. One thing I neglected to mention regarding a certain non-Fate gift: As people may have noticed when the Apicius Club was open in the De Gustibus storylet, A Tiny Silver Kettle of Pickled Liar’s Tongues can actually be a quite profitable gift if one keeps it until the next time the Procurer-General calls for assistance. Might be a while now, unlike last year, when it happened shortly after the feast instead of shortly before, but we’re not going to leave Fallen London, are we? Ever? No, I didn’t think so. Echoes will come to those who hoard.
Greetings all you delicious people,
Having only escaped from prison two days ago, where i found myself incarcerated after a great run on the sunless sea where i was arrested for carrying some less then legal merchandise, I now find myself woefully ill informed on how to conduct proper trading within this dark and scary city. I would therefore greatly appreciate it if someone could explain to me the proper trading etiquette. Similarly due to my status as a recent escapee I would also like to know in what for time frame this festival works, mostly when one can hand in these gifts and put them to the greatest use, and if one can acquire multiple companions.
If one wishes to expand their power base and acquire an additional contact feel free to make my acquaintance.
sincerely yours,
Malachai Blackbriar, an observant and devious gentleman

OOC:
My questions pretty much are
- how do you safely trade with people? (as i intend to trade fate/nex items this is paramount)
- when can you start to use masquing for companions? (timeframe for the event)
- Can you acquire multiple companions or are you locked at one a year?

I will gladly trade (non-fate) Masquing items with anyone; just add Mimic!
So, out of curiosity I used one of the 2-fate options on the Feast of the Rose card and acquired a substantial amount of Masquing from it. Can we get guidance as to whether this Masquing cracks the “non-fate” cap and to what extent?
Delicious Sirs, Madams and Others
This will also be my first Feast in the Neath; I’m interested in exchanging gifts, although I am afraid I can only send Teeth and Fungal Poetry (I could give someone a singed playing-card, if they ask particularly nicely).
I’m also interested in other non-Feast social activities, and would be very pleased to make your acquaintances.
Yours,
Tek.
The Feast of the Rose Opportunity card is supposed to give Masqueing, but not all options on it seem to. Just a note to all players who want to maximize their card draws.
I’m definitely willing to exchange Fate locked gifts, but please contact me first-- I’m doing some research to decide what I’d like to acquire. But I’ll definitely, definitely trade.
Delicious Friends,
I would love to exchange gifts, although I would not be able to return in kind a Fate-locked present.
Cordially, Marianne Anders
Greetings! I am a humble first-timer for the Feast of Roses.
I am rather interested in seeing how far my reputation as a charming scamp precedes me in gathering new delicious acquaintances! If anyone is graciously willing to bestow signs of affection upon my person, I will be glad to reciprocate as far as my humble self can muster.
I sadly lack in ability to send extravagant, fateful gifts as a equivalent reply to such gifts, but am chock-full on secrets of cryptic nature that could be appreciated.
Yours truly, Zarhon.
P.S: Please ensure you send a message of some distinction that identifies you as a responder to this very letter, lest you be unceremoniously ignored.
Delicious Friends, I am as always happy to exchange Feast gifts, including Nex-locked ones. Of particular interest to me at the moment (although it may be crass to mention them) are the Well-Song, the Fungal Poetry, the Starveling Stole, the Blemmigan Pedant, and the Color Explosion. I’ll be happy to exchange gifts of similar value, and will as always consider exceeding that value if you impress me.
As time marches on, please consider first contacting me to establish whether certain of my desires have already been satisfied.
Thank you!

I would love to exchange gifts with you, darling delicious friends, but sadly I can’t afford Fate-locked gifts. Hope to hear from you all soon!

I’ll gladly exchange not-so-fateful gifts with whomever would like to trade. I can do Fate gift trades as well, but please contact me first in that case. Thanks!
