something something wax something something hungry and or thirsty something something north
I would like my alt to start Seeking the Name. Ze is called, appropriately enough, Seeker of Names. I know there’s a thread somewhere here that people can request assistance in starting this insane quest; I just can’t find it at this moment.
Anyone want to either send the invite, or point me at the right thread?
While visiting my local tiger emporium I found myself purusing some rather curious shops. by the time I arrived at my aboad I found my stomach feeling quite empty. I retired to my room on the notion of allowing myself a rather large breakfast. However, I awoke in the night after visions of drowning in my sleep but when I awoke it was not food I hungered for it was the name.
What must I do now that I have become the number? It said to wait for it to continue later, but I think that is left over from back when it was a content boundary. Will I get a card, or do I need to do something else?
It’s not actually inaccurate; you do need to wait for it to continue.
Progression to the next step happens whenever Alexis hits the button that lets the next batch of Seekers progress. You may have to wait a while, or maybe not long at all. Only the Chief Tiger knows.
I’m waiting for well over a month now to continue, so I know how you feel ;)
I’m trying to spend the waiting time productively by collecting searing enigmas and collecting other useful items for the next parts of the journey.
Anyone know if Name Seekers absolutely have to choose the option on the Hallowmas visit card to get the right vision that gives a Candle?
Or have we been told that we can get this Candle elsewhere later, even if it takes much more effort?
I didn’t know one of them gave a Candle, and now I’m worried I’ve locked myself out of the Name Seeking unless I spend Fate to undo that.
I haven’t seen any offical word but I’m sure you won’t have to select that one option as a Seeker.
The candle will most likely be harder to aqcuire if you don’t but I choose the destiny that I liked best and I’m sure I’ll get that candle by a different, horrifying way.
The candle itself says that there will be seven ways to obtain it, each worse than the last. So, yes, you should be able to get it, but the price will be high.
Personally, I went for this one, considering Alexis’s skill at inventive cruelty.

It also says “Some things will not come to pass.” So I reckon the seven ways depends on how energetic Alexis is feeling and if he burns out after one or two ways :D
Although that might just mean that the destinies that lead to the candle mightn’t actually come to pass, thereby making a nice time paradox where you got a candle in the past for not doing something in the future.
I mean you can’t chop your arm off in a zubmarine if you’ve decapitated yourself to get a candle, now, can you? :v

Hah! Excellent point. And I can’t chop off a tattooed arm if I never get a tattoo. determined
Becoming Mr Eaten as my destiny or bust.

[li]What if the tattoo is the Name, though? I mean, in part of the Mr Sacks content last year, Mr Eaten Sacks said ‘…this will burn in you until you find what I was; until you inscribe it on yourself.’ If he meant that literally, well. Tattoo.
Well, I suppose you could just write it on yourself over and over again, doing your best not to smudge it or get too warm. Better stock up on a bunch of ink.

I’m praying with you that these options become apparent, as I’ve already spent nex on my current destiny and am unwilling to reverse it but still sadistically pray to finish this despicable quest.
It’s funny, I just realized the names of the candles are alphabethical. The 1st is A__,then there is St B___, then C, then D… and they correspond to the Masters :)
Don’t forget G, which is presumably the seventh!
I don’t really know what you mean by them corresponding to the masters, though. I don’t know if any of the masters trade in bones, crossroads, betrayals or destinies, and no master’s names start with B, D or G.
Yep! Which is why Saint Gawain’s candle is undoubtedly the seventh, although I haven’t seen anything to suggest a connection to the Masters. Of course, ever being able to obtain it is by no means guaranteed. Although I’m a little miffed at Alexis for providing us an option to host a tea party with an imaginary malevolent eldritch abomination in the middle of a crowded restaurant, and then making the requirements both unattainable and unlikely to ever be obtainable. That’s simply not the sort of thing you hold away from us lovely, deluded masochists!
I am gleeful to say that I have joined you all in this most noble and terrible of Searches as of this day; I have had damn’d words of betrayal and tallow whispered into my ear, and absentmindedly doodled letters of flame to seal my path. Now I would walk the Quarter…
