Still working on stuff! Thing have been a bit quiet as we’re getting close to the delivery for the Kickstarter, so a lot of time’s going into that.
And yeah, still working on Working the streets. A few other bits and bobs have also been tweaked, however. The work on the Kickstarter delivery will be over soon, which will mean more development on the game again.
Just released a very small update. More soon!
The long-awaited Street knowledge revamp is finally here. It’s now more complete, more balanced and more interesting.
Street knowledge now has about 80 branches (twice what it has before), with content for every step up to level 100, and there bout 20 entirely new cards associated with it. There are also several entirely new mechanics, new items (including a new vehicle) and new content on existing cards.
As ever, balance and whatnot is up for grabs still (especially with the entirely new mechanics), so feedback is very welcome.
Next up: I’ve been working on mechanics for prosthetic limbs, but the next real release will be full NPC mechanics and content for Willow.
Willow is now live, as promised, with full NPC mechanics. There will be more content for her in the next week or two.
I was hoping to have a bit more Willow content for you next week, but it’ll be next in face.
Oops, it’s been a bit of a while since the last update! There is stuff happening though. More soon.
I just added a short little intro-level storyline. The rest of Willow’s content is coming.
A small release this week – mood spikes are now fully usable. Sort them, use them, sell them. The big Willow update is still in the works.
Do you need any more testers? I’m not getting very far in my own project because I keep tripping up on the custom image issues. I’d love to see how you’ve implemented some things, anyway. I’ve played Fallen London for awhile and several other StoryNexus games as well. I’ve beta-tested text adventures in the past and am very good at spotting typos and other issues. I also wanted to help out since you’ve been patiently going back and forth with me on the image issues, even though that isn’t resolved yet.
Yes, always! I’ll send you a PM.
Another quick update. There’s some new stuff, but it’s mostly crossing ts and dotting is.
I’ve just released a big batch of content for Willow. It’s not quite where I wanted it yet, but there’s still lots and lots of stuff. There will be more to follow; I just figured it had been too long since there was a proper release.
It’s been a bit of long while, but there’s a new update for you: the Detention Center is now fully implemented, so its entrance is no longer a revolving door. There are probably around 50 new storylets, a whole bunch of mechanics for your time inside, NPC responses and some follow-on content for when (if?) you get out.
Another small update (there’s something much bigger in the works):
- You can now make use of anti-psychotics (both normal and grey market) and modafinil.[/li][li]You can now sell guns in the bordertown – equip some transport.
We’ve also now got a Discord server – link in-game. In other news, the latest Kickstarter was successful too!
Got another new content release: Interstate has finally been implemented (yes, after several years of being mentioned in the game), plus there are some other bits and bobs.
New content release
Cinci Airport is live (surprise new area!) There’s not much to do here yet, but think of it as an up market version of the dump. There is also new mission stuff related to the area, and there’s some new content for Interstate and elsewhere.
New content release: One-shot clinics are now a thing in both the slums and the Projects. They’re cheaper than the usual place, with some different options.
New content release:
If you have a permanent employer while working the enforcer job, that now does something. This might be bugged for your character; get in touch for a fix.
You can now do more to build your enforcer reputation.
New, more detailed mechanics if you’ve cheated on Ann. Will be implemented for other characters too.
Plenty of small bug and typo fixes.
