Becoming closest to the Bohemians caps at 10.
(the truthseeker) My lady. As one who has experienced "What profit" indeed, I can have some empathy for your limits, but no sympathy to brag you wish to be an Astute Hedonist for those Masters in the House of Chimes! Bragging is Pride and such Sin…well I guess such a Pot should not lecture to the Kettle.
But on a more Pragmatic side (one I typically take,) one could continuously renounce their closest to and reacquire them with the Bohemians. Also the Provost is quite decadent, but it’s likely you’re beyond such frippery. Likely your best bet is to Translate the libretto for ‘The Concursion of Petals’. I hope the profit for yours was worth it as this is not inexpensive. I’m guessing you can get your Hedonism high enough to attempt such an act?
Unfortunately, translating the libretto also requires Hedonism 12. If I were capable of reaching that, I could simply use my store of heads. It’s getting from 10 to 12 that seems to be downright impossible without waiting for holidays to repeatedly sell and buy back my soul.
All the options that keep increasing Hedonist above 10 are referenced (at least indirectly) in my post you quoted, Scienceandponies. The Fate options in the Iron Republic have been confirmed to cap at 10, although the “Softened” option gives 8 CP, so like the truthseeker says, you might be able to get to 10 + 7 CP if you buy that option when you’re at 9 + 9 CP.
Why would you want to do that since it’s still so far short of 12? Well, I think your best bet is to go for the rare success on this story, which I think is the only one you can’t get locked out of that raises hedonist over 10:
http://fallenlondon.wikia.com/wiki/Enjoy_the_decadence
To get to that story you have to wait for the Feast of the Exceptional Rose (not long from now!) – but then I believe there are a couple ways to get to it. You might need to spend a whole lot Making Waves and Carnival Tickets, or draw a lot of cards and manipulate the Airs of London – because it appears to be an extremely rare success. Plus you’d have to get it five times to go from 10-12 – however, if you spent 10 Fate in the Iron Republic, only four times.
However, another option also opens up during the Feast, this Fate option:
http://fallenlondon.wikia.com/wiki/Bribe_the_maître_d'_(2_FATE)
This one only costs 2 Fate, but I believe it will get you the same amount of Hedonist as the option above, along with a bunch of other goodies I’ll leave unspoiled. This route appears to require drawing a Feast-related card – but it’s not a rare success, so you could do it much more quickly, as quickly as by playing croquet with the Quiet Deviless. Maybe a combination of the two Feast options would be ideal! Then you can head back to the Iron Republic to repair your sorely-damaged Austere.

I believe it is tied solely to the "Making your name" quality now. So grinding stats down wont help, though you could use this access code ( http://fallenlondon.storynexus.com/a/anameresigned) to go back to that point on the persuasive track. Be warned, the code only works once.
I just tried using that code and got the following message:
"The access code ‘anameresigned’ has been used up and was not applied."
I’m pretty sure that today is the first time I’ve ever even heard of that code. Is it just no longer valid? Maybe it’s because I already had high Persuasive when the Name Signed With a Flourish status was implemented and, fool that I was, I told it I’d already done everything?
As it stands now, it looks like I’m stuck with relying on either Fate or waiting on the Feast of the Exceptional Rose for getting Hedonist above 10 as I’ve long since been kicked out of both Court and the University (and subsequently restored my academic standing, but that sadly doesn’t get you much).
That access code was retired about a month or two after it was introduced; it was meant as a short-term fix for some problems and confusion players encountered when the Persuasive tracker was being implemented. [Update: corrected with Optimatum info! I remember trying to use it in September and getting the used-up message.]

It actually lasted a fair bit longer than that. The update was released at the beginning of August; I used the access code for item gain at least a month later.
Good to know. Thanks.
That’s what I get for not keeping on top of news/community updates I guess.
I don’t suppose there’s a code to reset the Watchful Name to try seducing the Provost again, is there?

Please remind me, what is the value of connection needed for the Scarlet Saint? And what is the best grind for Devils (other than sell them information)? Conflict cards of church/devils and urchins/devils are a no go for me, since lowering quirks.
EDIT: the urchins/devils conflict card does not lower any quirks.

That is the only grind that I know of, and 75 of each Connection.
The Once-Dashing Smuggler also gives a one time opportunity to increase Hedonist above 10, should he still be available to you. Just confirmed it myself.
Having just done it, with a perfect 15/15 I noticed that the house of chimes lowered the requirement …
not enough to matter.

A perfect 15/15 after the 10-12 deadzone was implemented?
Now that the Feast of the Rose is here, has anyone had any luck with using the Perfumed Pleasure Garden’s "Enjoy the Decadence" rare success to raise Hedonist above 10?
I’ve spent 60-80 actions on it today and still no rare success, so I’m starting to wonder if it’s still in there.
Perhaps it’s just even more rare than I expected?
I got the rare success twice within 5 actions, so it’s definitely still there. It does raise it higher than 10.
That’s encouraging to hear. Also, I am terribly envious of you right now.
I spend about 80 actions so far today, and no rare success. So it is a rare one indeed.
Finally got the rare “Enjoy the Decadence” success after about 200 actions. Can also confirm that it still raises Hedonist above 10.
I spent 75 actions on this today before getting the rare success: 50 successes, 24 failures, and 1 rare success. So my admittedly rough estimate of the "Pretty good odds" here are 66% success, 33% failure, and 1% rare success. After a few more rare successes, I’ll be able to try out some new and Hedonistic uses for my Entry in Slowcake’s Exceptionals, Counterfeit Head, and Ornate Typewriter.
…not all at once, of course. I’m no Nigel Overstreet.
I’m no Nigel Overstreet.
No one is. Not even me. I long ago lost track of what does and does not increase or decrease Hedonism. I dare say if I were just starting out, I’d have a devil of a time keeping up with the pack.
But I’m glad the pursuit of Hedonism is still a Feast goal. Narci and I only got to our respective heights during a crazy grind in the Feast of 1890, so I’m glad some of that spirit is seen during the season.
The War of Hedonism rages on!
Huzzah! Thank you Dante’s Grill and your highly bribe-able staff! I finally got to 12 Hedonism. Now to make it sure it never drops back down.
