I’ve fashioned a tiny pair of jorts with the ratpoints I have accumulated in this realm. However, since ratpoints are simply an abstraction of my zone, I look as naked as my neighbor.

My dear, this is intolerable. One expects a certain standard of fancy, even in those… eeegh… unsavoury Zones. I shall stretch out my mightily fancy god-paw forthwith.
Is a Heart of the Rat Zone purchased in the God Shack persistent?
EDIT: Also, do God Point gains scale with God Level, and what happens to gods who go to Hell Zone? edited by Jack Vaux-Harrowden on 1/17/2014
IIRC, hearts are persistent (and instrumental to fast ratscension), and avarats can just break themselves free out of hell without outside help.
I could remember wrong, it could have changed, I didn’t actually play (except to send rescue attempts) in a long while.
I have no idea why, but I’m addicted to this and it’s terrifying. Though could I bother someone to bust me out of the Hell Zone? Really, I have…no idea why I listened to that well. (I’m Whitrea in the game btw)
EDIT: Thank you so MUCH OH MY GOSH I dont know who you are though but. thank you

I think the Make a Billion Rat option for gods is bugged–I’ve used it twice now without getting anything for my troubles, although I still lose the full quarter-billion rats.
It’s a gamble! If you fail the luck challenge, you’ll get either 0 or 1 rats (50/50 chance), if you succeed you’ll get 0, 1 or 2 rats (33% chance each), and if you get the rare success (5% odds) then you’ll get 1 or 2 rats (50/50).
I think that probably works out that you get way more than a billion rats per billion rats used up. Alternatively you can stick with the regular billion rat things (1 bil regular rats makes 1 billion rat, 1 bil. royal rats makes 2 and 1 bil holy rats makes 3, 4 or 5 billion rats! whoa) edited by Spacemarine9 on 1/18/2014
Hey Spacemarine! I’m a fan of your game and am creating a storynexus game of my own. I was wondering how you did the Bee Poison with the real-time countdown? I’m wanting to implement something similar with drugs.
Simple enough! It’s a living story (Stories dropdown on the toolbar -> Living stories) which sets the Bee Poison quality to 0 after 3 hours (and some bonus effects if you have a certain item). Then, any storylet that gives Bee Poison subscribes you to said living story (Advanced options on the branch result -> living story).
If you need any more info on 'em, there’s a fair chunk of informative text in the manual (if the hyperlink doesn’t work, just hit ctrl-f and search for Living Story :v)
The … what, now? That sounds intriguing …
On a whim a week or two ago, I added a couple storylets at various levels of Avarat (25, 50, 75, 100, 150 and 200)… mainly just to goad Nitebrite into wasting a bunch of time trying to get it that high. The one at 75 is playable once, and sets your Avarat quality to a random number between 0 and 200. Nitebrite lucked out and didn’t lose any progress :V

That’s what I was thinking it might have been :) Thanks for the clarification!
I really hope the level 200 rat god story is pretty cool, on account of 200 is the avarat cap. (I’m hoping its something like a list of all the levels of rat god titles, because I skipped over a bunch of them using those dice haha). (Its probably just death though if I had to make a serious guess :P)
I don’t suppose there’s any place to learn more about Overco?
(Or that the Cruise Liner Zone is player-accessible?)
I hope this is the case myself! I found it intriguingly plot-like when I saw that bit in the Gold Zone, and due to the nature of this game I immediately assumed it would never be followed up on ever for precisely that reason.
Sorry to be a bother but I have another question :) I’m trying to make a branch that sells all of the players "Fiber Optic Wire" for 20 Credits each. I’ve attempted changing the player’s Credits by "[q:Fiber Optic Wire]*20" and then setting Fiber Optic wire to 0 but it seems to cause the branch to break when played :\ How do you do it in the Rat Black Market card for "Buy Rats in Bulk"? Any help would be greatly appreciated :) edited by leonn3k on 2/7/2014
I think you need to space things out, maybe? So it’s [q:Fiber Optic Wire] * 20 instead of [q:Fiber Optic Wire]*20
…admittedly I’m not absolutely certain if that has any effect, but I always just put spaces in to be sure.
You should probably make sure you have the quality changes in the right order too; first the Credits change, then set the Fiber Optic Wires to 0. Also you might just have a loose HTML tag if the page just breaks when you try to play the branch.
