Hurlers

Yep, like you guys pointed out, replacing overcapping with cap raises was hugely valuable for this. I didn’t visit the Nadir for ages, but now I’d never miss it. I just pulled the maximum stat loss from a visit (11 irrigo), but couldn’t care less since I got two searing enigmas out of it.

I got the same this time. Irrigo 11, with 2 Searing Enigmas, 1 Fecund Amber, 1 Discordant Soul, and 1 Irrigo Box. I gave up going to the cave a long time ago because of the capping problem. I even did a second round of maxed-out renown just to re-raise them after going on some unplanned lark. It’s nice to have unhampered access again and the irrigo is fine.

I tried but you’re not eligible. You have to be in London.

It’s not that I don’t like the CotN writing, it’s just that I’m tired of it. And I get that people also go there for the loot, but getting all the stats back up tires me so much that it’s not worth it, for me. Probably not gonna visit it ever again unless something new gets hidden inside.

Aiza Moor is at the point of needing a Discordant Missive. Would someone be able to send me one? I can reciprocate with any other type of letter (including Correspondence).

EDIT: Received, thank you!
getting all the stats back up tires me so much that it’s not worth it, for me.
I mean, it mostly just happens by itself while you’re doing other stuff. And while you’re in the process of building back the single lost skill point per stat, you don’t exactly tend to feel the loss of it much. Every now and then if I’ve fallen behind I read a few letters, like just now when the max irrigo set me back two points instead of one, so I read a letter per stat to bring them all straight up by one point. But I don’t really find it to be much of a struggle, generally speaking.

It’s a psycho-illogical thing.

Send me a Calling Card in a few hours, I’ll should be back to London by then, and I’ll gladly send such a Missive.

I could use a missive myself, and would be overjoyed to send anything in return. Hopefully I’ll remember to stay in London.

On a related note, wouldn’t it be nice if there was a way to tell if your contacts were still playing? I had to cross my fingers when withdrawing patronage from someone so my influence would be low enough to make new friends.

Edit: wow, just accidentally reported myself for moderation. I must be a jerk.
wow, just accidentally reported myself for moderation. I must be a jerk.
I do that constantly. Bet the mods love me.

It is unfortunate that both Billy Cosmos (&quotNeed qualities&quot) and Aiza Moor (&quotin a different Setting&quot) cannot be invited with a Calling Card and if we’re not &quotAcquainted WIth&quot (each other) I cannot send them missives :(.

If you manage to send me Calling Cards after you’re back in London/not capped your Influence, I’ll gladly accept and send a Discordant Missive to everyone in needs.

I could have sworn the influence cap was 94. Oops.

Thank you my new friend-with-an-unpronounceable-name!

It’s pretty hit-or-miss, but if I want to know if someone’s actively playing, I check if I can see when the last entry was added to their journal/profile page. If I ever had to guess who to drop, I’d pick the one who had the oldest visible last entry.

Can someone kindly not remind me which option does not lead to

gaining an Immaterial Material

as I am not trying to replace the one I didn’t trade?

The one where you don’t give up a theorem, I think? I may not be wrong.

Immaterial Material is made from Theorem. And you need 5 Bribes to turn it into Velvet.

Since everyone will be hanging in the London for a time being, I can send several missives. Send a card with a request.

I don’t know - meditated twice, no numbers in head and still unable to solve the zero seal. The lake still says I got 1 number in my head

If you’re in the place that doesn’t exist, go to Beneath the Standing Stones and “Don’t try to count the Hurlers”.
If you’re not, then approach the Hurlers and just walk away from them.

Both of those actions will set the Number That’s Not In Your Head to the total of Counting the First Circle and Counting the Second Circle.

DaveAx was in need of a Discordant Missive to read in a place that doesn’t exist, but has resolved that issue through the assistance of Aiza Moor.
He still has one to offer to another player, if you’re in need. Your calling card will be welcomed.
