Reserving the thread for the next station. I wonder, how long will we have to wait for it.
Hurlers is the place where the Discordance stones and goat demons reside, right? I wonder if there will be options for overgoat or – god forbid – Heptagoat owners.
Cannot remember the part about Discordance, though it was mentioned as viciously cold place.
Also cannot remember the part about goat-demons. IIRC, they prefer warmer climes, like Hell proper.
First things first, Wikipedia link for the real Hurlers, which are an actual stone circle in England. Of note, the legend that they can’t be counted.
From Conversation with Furnace, it would seem Cornelius’ condition (and Furnace’s?) is directly a result of him attempting to read the inscriptions on the Hurlers.
When asking the Hell-Scarred Gondolier about territories west from his card, three of his responses are about the Hurlers. One cautions not to count the stones, lest you be counted (see above). A second mentions goat-demons. The third I reproduce in full:
In the very specific circumstances that you decide on Hellish architecture for your station at Moulin, and Furnace is on your board, she will also mention the presence of goat-demons at the Hurlers.
So yes, goat-demons and discordance stones. Both of those features of the Hurlers are attested by two different characters. And, uh, not being counted.
Ah, ok. Got only the first convo myself.
Doesn’t this castle sound similar to Frosthmoth?
When talking to Cornelius immediately after tracking him down, he says (among other things):
Presumably the Adulterine Castle is the same castle that the Hell-Scarred Gondolier mentions.
(also, adulterine castles are an actual thing - castles built without permission during the Anarchy)
People with heptagoats don’t deserve anything nice. Not like the fancy people with cider.
Says the gentleman with a heptagoat. What about cider bearing heptagoats?
And it is out.

FYI building the station itself is date-locked to April 26th. We are currently performing preparations.
And boy howdy, those preparations. I’m glad to talk to the Numismatrix, haven’t spoken to her in a while.
So first of all, it seems that the Deviless that Spices was involved with is actually the Creditor’s Solicitor.
It seems that after imbuing your new currency with properties, you can choice to un-imbue it. I have no idea what the consequences of any of these are. The quality that tracks the currency is complicated. Should I not be creating a currency with everything? Perhaps not.
The currency projects are quite interesting. What you find out about Hinterland Scrip sounds like a schizophrenic conspiracy theory, if it weren’t real. Who actually wants that? It sounds like someone was trying to trigger the debt.
My first guess is the Manager - he’s very much active in the Upper River, he could personally witness, or at least know from the reliable source, about the bargain, and he’s revolutionally nihilistic and crazy to do just that.

I’m thrown off by how human the bazaar seems and how mad it is at the masters now.
Can someone send me some First City Coins Please?
So, the main question is what are the adverse consequences of each backing of these coins. But I guess we’ll have to wait for Marigold station to know.
Just sent you some.

As usual, I have the distinct feeling I’m missing something. How far do I need to push Conceptual Breakthrough in Currency Design? I’m not seeing any clues that tell me anything.
Once you have at least one Conceptual Breakthrough, you can return to the Bazaar Sidestreets and use it to start designing currency. Once you have at least one design feature, you can pitch it to the Creditor’s Solicitor.
Ahhh, thanks. :)
