(Assuming of course that my being mean to cora to follow up on Beechwood did not cause that, which, if so, real bad form not putting ANY kind of "This will not let you hire her as a assitant" note on that choice. I’d have never picked it if that was a thing.)
It definitely isn’t the case - I was mean to Cora but still got the card and she didn’t even seem to be angry at me. And now I see an option to hire her at the lab.
Thanks for confirming it was a bug, I was worried I had angered her just enough to never want to work for me. DX
Unsurprisingly this Ambition didn’t do as much for my efficacy as a duelist as Nemesis or Bag a Legend might have done… but it did add a little to my power, and certainly I like all the items with bonuses to the various new Parabolic skills that I was able to accrue. To say nothing of the wild ride this finale provided, and the actual thematic significance of the endings. Naturally for me there was only one choice.
"Mr Hearts has been in contact with your Monkey and presented him with his instructions. Your Monkey is ready to accept his heart’s desire, at long last.It is time to accompany Gregory Beechwood to the Bazaar…"
Thank you very much!
The main two approaches are either searching the secrets in the forgotten quarter or the rare success from the expeditions to the shrine, both are supposed to take around 120+ actions per skull with maxed stats

They are "supposed" to take 120-130 actions, indeed, but it’s still a gamble. I’ve already spent 1.5 weeks and 2K Echo for Expeditions Supplies, and still have only found 2 Skulls.
My FL-husband, several months ago: "I’ve chosen Heart’s Desire because I want a light-hearted Ambition. Bloody revenge, deadly monster-hunt, horrifying conspiracy? Too dark. I want a cute monkey instead. I want to listen to the Merry Gentleman’s and Topsy King’s jolly incomprehensible gibberish. I want to play pranks on our current Mayor. And I love it."
HD finale: comes
The Monkey: faces us with one of the cruelest choices and saddest moments in the whole game
The Manager: is in full-blown suicidal depression
The Topsy King: never fully recovers from madness
The Lord Mayor: eagerly murders us with her bare hands
FL-husband: "This is fine." (sips Muscaria Brandy)
So, after several days of Skull Grind (with a two-and-a-half break for the true Whitsun experience of egg research) I’ve finally collected all 5, so now it’s just a matter of not accidentally giving one away for money and resisting the masochistic urge to sell the Cinder to the Bazaar. Out of the ways to get the Skulls, 3 were found while Wandering the Quarter, and 1 each from a Shrine (I think I’d done 18 or so with only the last giving me the last skull immidiately after getting the fourth) and Seeing the sights (after many, many CPs of Nightmares).
I am now at the point where I need to interview the Boatman, so I’m wondering - can I just die in any random way, or must I be killed by Virginia specifically?
House of Mirrors works just fine as well. Just don’t forget to buy a particular feline sacrifice in advance.
I’m extremely tired and irritated by the search for Eyeless Skulls. I’ve been at it for two weeks, spent a small fortune, and assembled 3 Tears of the Bazaar from the Airag lost by some misguided prior visitors to the Shrine… and I still only got 2 frigging skulls.
Honestly, if I have to stare at this opportunity deck for one more week, I’ll join Tristram in his demise.

Yes, one and only
On final. Amazing, just amazing. Grind for skulls was annoing, although reading all this I am starting to think that I came of the hook easily. And piece of lore in return worthed it. Amazing peek into our dear Pages, just amazing.
Two quite hard choices in the end. Well, Time is mine and Fruit is mine, and I really hope my opponent really wanted this, because I am really not big fan of irreversible choices.
