Hallowmas 1898

Historically, 500 Spirit should be enough.

I’m on 1244 spirit now, I reckon I’m probably doing reasonably well.

As for criminal records, thankfully the railway has made those much easier to expunge than previously.

Over 5k in the end. Currently i am at 1746

Hm. But why are you gathering so much spirit? Unless I’m misremembering something (because last time I attended Hallowmas was a long while ago), the highest check requires 500.

FBG has mentioned (but I can’t find the source) that rewards this year top out at 2,500. If you’re shooting for that, then you should ideally be around 1,000 by now, depending on how much you play on weekdays vs weekends.

Aaahhh… then I’ve been slacking off a lot… because I was thinking 500… oh well. Time to go to work being naughty, I guess.

Yes, last year as well the requirement for the highest reward tier was 2000 and for the unique title 2500, but now apparently there may even be a chance to earn a higher title rank with points above the 2500 cutoff.

I’ve been neglecting Hallowmas for many a year to think that 500 was the limit. ::

From Guide to Hallowmas storylet:
“At the end of Hallowmas, on 6th November, you will receive a visit. This caller will provide rewards dependent on the level of your Spirit of Hallowmas. The more Spirit you accrue, the more rewards you can claim at the end of the festival. While 2500 is the maximum amount of Spirit that gives rewards, any additional spirit will contribute to the rank of a title that can only be advanced at Hallowmas.”

And that’s why I should RTFM! :)

Is anyone else not getting the storylet card to get into their masque ball? It hasn’t popped up once for me.

Edit: as ever, the RNG that controls the deck has made a fool of me. The card has finally turned up.

404 for me. I feel … inadequate.

Currently at 1468. I’m on track to hit 2500 with a day or two to spare. I’m spending most of my time at the Wreck of the St. Elmo (I’m running low on scintillack…off to the Bone Market soon), as I want the associated Affiliation quality. On that note, it’s a shame that Docks favors are going to be nerfed soon – I think the current Expedition Supplies trade-in is quite reasonable, considering that Docks favors are not (easily) grindable, and there’s also an associated cost in rostygold.

As for the companions, it’s great to see that some increase advanced skills. I have the Bear and the Moot, and a certain Debunker is going to learn a few things soon. I do think it’s odd that the Roseate Antagonist only gives +1 KT, instead of +2 like the other upgraded companions. Perhaps she will have some other use in a storylet (such as how the Assuming and Unassuming Judges unlock storylets on an Opportunity Card at the Magistry), but at present there’s no way to tell.

Honestly, I’m a bit upset. I just went back from my hiatus and I bought the Countess of Thorns for 40 Fate.

40 Fate is the price of Debating Lessons with the Jovial Contrarian as well as Feducci’s Dueling Lance, both of which have very high stats. I was under the assumption that the Countess would have high stats as well, or perhaps better stats when she’s upgraded.

I thought this Hallowmas would be a great chance to upgrade her, and I was excited to do so! But the fact that the Roseate Antagonist still only has +1 KT, while losing a bunch of other stats…

I mean the +3 Dreaded is nice and all, but I feel like it should have at least +2 KT like the other upgraded companions. Those are the only two stats it has now and for 40 Fate… I don’t know… Am I missing something?

643 for me. The frustrating part is that have three different categories of Nightmare reducing items, but I got the Pavilion of Butterflies card last year. I was really hoping to go for St. Elmo this year.

i had nightmares 7, stepped out of the pavilion and now I’m in the mirror marches??? why whywywhwyhwyhwywhwyhwywhwhwywy i needed to turn those night mares in!!! ::i could just cry…

You got sent to the MM with nightmares 7? That shouldn’t be happening. I would suggest a support ticket if you got sent there with the menace at 7.

First guess: Nightmare-increasing gear.

A short guide to single-player Confession conversion.

It is possible to convert any Confession into any other Confession without engaging in player-to-player trades. It may, however, take quite a few actions. For example, converting Violence into Curiosity requires 5 steps, and each step is at a different location than the one before it.

The six types of Confessions are arranged into &quotcycles&quot of three Confessions each. Each cycle forms a closed loop, spanning the three festival locations. Additionally, there are two conversions that move from one cycle to another.

FIRST WEEK CYCLE

  • Impropriety to Curiosity (Pavilion of Butterflies)[/li][li]Curiosity to Pride (Saint Dunstan’s)[/li][li]Pride to Impropriety (Wreck of St Elmo)

SECOND WEEK CYCLE

  • Violence to Whimsey (Pavilion of Butterflies)[/li][li]Whimsey to Guile (Saint Dunstan’s)[/li][li]Guile to Violence (Wreck of St Elmo)

(Guile was available in the first week but I couldn’t think of a better name.)

Impropriety (Week 1) can be converted to Violence (Week 2). And Guile (nominally Week 2) can be converted into Pride (Week 1).

If you’re planning what upgrades you want, and which confessions you have, you should pay attention first to whether you need to move Confessions from one cycle to another. If you have excess Week 1 Confessions, you must first convert them to Impropriety, then Violence, then other Week 2 Confessions as needed. And similarly, if you have excess Week 2 Confessions, you must first convert them to Guile, then Pride, then other Week 1 Confessions. If you’re willing to engage in player-player trades but want to minimize them, cross-cycle trades probably save you the most legwork.

I have summarized the available conversion paths in an image, expand the Spoiler tags below to see.
