Yes! Violence, Whimsy, and a Winged Creature of Considerable Speed are mine!
Well, I got my needed cards to update my sulky bat to a Crytographic Chiropteran : Watchful +7, Nightmares -1, Bizarre +1; so yay!
Wow, my stormbird is now bizarr enough - and loves trains ?? is this just a cosmetic text?
Good lord. The Hammerstrike when you trade confessions in to get the ones of violence. My word.
Does anyone have a list of what the stat bonuses are for the various companions? I wanted to take a look before I decide which ones to get.
To whom it may concern, here’s the lowdown on the Regretful Skeptic:
I’m sorry to have put him out of sorts, but Harry here is quite the game-changer when it comes to chess.
My hope at the Jester’s identity is dashed… he’s doing a great job though!
Do you mean fate ones or the new ones? Either way, almost all are listed here at this point (save two at this time of this post): https://fallenlondon.fandom.com/wiki/Hallowmas_(historical)
I’m almost certain it’s been asked before, but is there any way to track Spirit of Hallowmas gain as a number somewhere? I’ve been hitting Balmoral pretty heavily for Suspicion gains but still feel anxious since I can’t tell how well I’m doing so far.
You can see it in your qualities tab. Just search for spirit.
Go to your "Myself" tab. Type "Spirit of Hallowmas" into the search box and it will bring it up. You can also put it on your profile page as a Scrapbook item.
My hope at the Jester’s identity is dashed… he’s doing a great job though!
I think Hammerstrike and the Fool’s Apostate are the only ones whose identities aren’t revealed on the seek out the attendants page. You don’t need to even go through with any of the upgrades to find out the rest.
Yeah, I have theories on both… had. But then the violence trade in & I am not as sure about my Hammerstrike guess. I don’t mind the text (my character is played like a little ball of rage (though my stats are weird right now because of Hallowmas running around), but the level of violence shown at the card table by the Hammerstrike makes me reguess my thought that it might be.

It seems that the identities of who is chosen to play each Attendant changes from one year to the next. But I remember witnessing Hammerstrike’s… transaction… last year. So I wouldn’t assume that’s a clue to the identity. That comes from the mask, not the one who wears it.
I’m torn between helping the tracklayer and silencing the rat, and acquiring a fast-flying choo-choo chaser.
It doesn’t help that I have no idea whether any of these will have any kind of special use down the line.

The “choo choo chaser” gives a +3 to bizarre, if it helps.
It also might confirm the theory Storm Birds are baby curators of some kind, what with the chasing trains and all.

Or peek at it in "Change Your Mask" in the Hallowmas storylet.
I would like a Confession of Whimsy. I am offering a confession of Pride in exchange.
Do you really think that grinding Suspicion in Balmoral is more effective than taking part in the Masques? I mean, the failure options in Balmoral give just +3 Suspicion each and nothing else, and at that you need to fail, while the Masque options both give +7 Suspicion; if you take into account the low-end option occuring 1/3 times, you get to 5 CP of suspicion/action. It seems to me that if you have the needed items, using this route is actually slightly faster. Or am I missing something?
I presume you use the successes to build Cover Identity Elaboration and transform it into the 2.5 Echo items every once in a while, so you make some profit, but every success actually decreases the Suspicion gains over a large number of actions.
Just out of curiosity, what amount of Spirit of Hallowmas would the rest of you gentlepeople consider to be “doing well”?
And a word of warning for all of you who play around with menace-modifying gear:
Due to a very silly misclick on my outfits, I just had a quite unreasonable and rather unpleasant encounter with some narrow-minded lawmen and the resulting unwarranted sting in the New Newgate set me back in more than one way (stupid Wickers and his bloody criminal record!)
A rather blatant miscarriage of justice, really. One would hope that some safety net would be in place for Hallowmas, since we are expected to walk on a razor’s edge like this.
