We’ve done it folks! The date is upon us! This has been one of the wildest, neathiest things I’ve ever done. It was a riot seeing so many people in the community come together for this. Thank you all! Be proud of yourselves and the ridiculous fun you’ve helped create.
Invites will be sent out and given a few days, in case anyone is out of London at the time. A master guest list will be posted shortly, listing the names of EVERY SINGLE PERSON who donated rats, and the guests of honor. Keep an eye out. The Guest List:http://community.failbettergames.com/topic26773-the-ratfunded-wedding-of-anna--emelia-guestlist.aspx
Emelia sat tallying the latest batch of rats, while her raven sat on the back of a nearby chair, reciting increasingly nonsensical poetry about the little rodents. She sighed and put down the her notebook. So many rats. Rats cooked, rats skinned, traded, fed to the cats, given to the Department of Menace Eradication. Far, far more rats than anyone should probably handle. But solid progress was being made, solid ratty progress.
The date was close. Most of the paperwork sat in thick envelopes in neat pile on Emelia’s desk, the rest slowly moving through the convoluted formalities of the bazaar. Anna and Emelia sat in the great room, sipping sweet tea and filling out ornate invitations. Slow as progress was, the excitement for the day buzzed silently in the air like the heat of false-summer.
The gowns arrived later that day, beautiful works of satin and silk. More came in the coming days. A letter confirmation from a fungal florist on the bouquet and decorations. A couple urchins coming to make agreements to not terrorize the party.
Anna and Emelia sat quietly in the evenings, relishing in each other’s company. "Are you excited, dear?" "Of course, love."
The beautiful and lovely couple Anna Enary and Emelia Blaire are getting married! However, both are simultaneously lazy and willing to put a lot of effort into something extremely stupid.
We are funding a bazaar wedding. Entirely with rats. This may be the neathiest thing ever.
Please feel free to send any spare rats you may have to:

Preferred to send rats to Emelia as she is the one largely keeping track of the rats and invites.
All who send rats will be placed on a list/friended in order to be invited to the eventual wedding taking place in the Bazaar.

I once shared the same goal - and just got all my necessary rats a few days ago (500000 of them), but my engagement was broken off in the meantime. Maybe I’ll encounter love again, so I’m keeping most of them… But I’ll send some to you from time to time. How many do you have right now? edited by H_Johnson on 12/9/2017
Congratulations! I’m happy to contribute, though I doubt I’ll be able to contribute much. I occasionally collect a few rats from my friend the Regretful Soldier, and I’ll be sure to send them your way. Once again, congratulations, and may all manner of thing be well with you!
The neathiest crowdfunding campaign ever continues! Emilia Blair’s better half would like to profoundly thank everyone who has sent them rats thus far, culminating in four pages (!) of names of rat-senders, all of whom will be invited to the wedding one way or another.
We’re more or less at the halfway mark to funding the wedding. Keep them coming!
Keep those rats coming, folks! Who else among us will be able to say that they personally supported the first (and dare I say last?) entirely rat-funded wedding? Donate now while there are seats left to reserve!
Any updates on how close we are to finishing funding this? I hope it does not take too much longer I imagine that the rats would start rotting after a while.[li] edited by Sajach on 12/19/2017

That’s an interesting issue, Sajach! Perhaps the rats are dried (rat jerky! oh boy) or smoked to preserve them.

My rats are treated with formaldehyde to prevent rot. No need to worry!
Current Progress: 5062 out of 10000
We’re halfway there!
I just wanted to say thank you to all you crazy Londoners who saw this silly things and decided to join in. It makes me so happy to see even just a part of this community come together over such a Neathy and silly endeavour.

Nonsense. No wedding is silly, even if one funds it entirely with rats. :-)
That being said, I have enjoyed my minor bit in helping you both on your quest! Best of luck, and I’ll continue to send rats when I get the Give a Gift card until you both cry out, "Enough!"
Congrats on the engagement, two bundles of rats should be on their way to you (unless the Starveling Cat snatches them up, of course). edited by Flannigan on 1/10/2018
