It’s fun and has a unique prize at the end, but if the choice is between this and the Foreign Office go with the Foreign Office. Or another way to gauge it is on how much you liked the non-Nex Pygmalion options because it is much the same.
Would you PM me what the unique prize is? Because if it’s just 1000 Amber or something I’ll save up for the Office.
I would be interested in that information too.
The unique prize is a unique item. This is not an equipable item and does not give stat bonuses.
Apart from the Soul Trade, the continuation of Theological Husbandry, Flute Street, and Exceptional Friendship, are there any Fate-locked stories worth pursuing?
It’s more about choices really, I’d say. I personally found the end of Jack to be worth it - but that’s because the choice felt more right - not because it was very rewarding.
Hello, friends!
Sorry if this has been asked before, but is the recovering of one’s soul a quality story to pursue? For fifteen fate, I have been seriously considering it. As I have just taken up the search for The Name, I have heard that a soul is necessary at some point, or am I mistaken? Anyhow, would you lot advise for or against me recovering my soul?
One cannot stain something one does not possess. As far as story goes, seeking your soul is not terribly interesting, but possessing a soul is required should you decide to Seek the Name.
Which is a horrid idea altogether and you should spend fate (and time) elsewhere.
Speaking of staining the soul. I am not seeking the Name, just a curiosity question. When you stain your soul, do you have to pay fate every time to find it?
I think it gives you the Looking for your Soul quality so that you won’t have to do so. I think. Haven’t gotten that far on my Seeker yet.

It’s not much of a story, and there isn’t much to it. Still, it makes up for feeling suckered into losing it in the first place, so I’m glad I did it. I would have preferred if the quest had seemed more important instead of just an off-hand, no-big-deal kind of thing after all the effort the devils took to get it in the first place.
No, you do not. However, sometimes your starveling cat runs off, and you need it back to grill it for information on your soul. You can either try and get another one, or pay fate to get it back, along with starting on the next step of getting your soul back.
Does the option to harden yourself at the Iron Republic also decrease soft qualities?
Pretty sure the answer is yes.
Darn. Thanks for the info.
What are soft qualities?
The qualities raised by the “soft” fate-locked option at the Iron Republic, like Hedonist and Magnanimous I believe.
Oh, that! I’m not very acquainted with the Iron Republic run, not having done it personally.
I highly recommend the Iron Republic once or twice. The journal’s interesting for raising bizarre and dreaded, you get a unique quality for going (only seems to go up to 1 though…), and it may possibly be possible to get money from it. Probably. Due to the slightly variable nature of taking paths through there, doing research is… troublesome.

Well, I’ll have to go there sooner or later, but for now I’m perfectly fine without being changed ^^
