You might want it back if you were determined to play every storylet option possible (as one, of course, always is) and you happened to not have already played the Erratum on The Book of All Hours: Ephemeroptera which requires the value at 7. I only just happened to have played the Erratum as I finally encountered Ephemeroptera this morning (bad timing on my part the last few days!) before having noticed the Tale finishing option and having played that, so I’m good, but I would have been saddened to have missed the chance to play the branch if I’d done the order wrong. I was surprised to lose the option to raise King’s Song again after finishing the Tale!

My PSA for the day: if you have 172456+ rats on a string and you consider an EPA of 10 worthwhile, it is indeed worth the 5 action hit to dispose of them all at the The Department of Menace Eradication and then repurchase rather than selling down to an elephantine number at the Bazaar…

It would seem that the clues that are outside of normal game mechanics can be found even before even beginning the clue hunt, or after it has concluded. But can you really turn them in since I think the storylet to do so disappears after the dinner?
I smashed two candles into The King’s Song 7 and now my exhausted brain gifted me a Jamiroquai cover whose chorus starts with “Futures - made of - Hear a squeaking melody”.

I don’t think you can turn them in anywhere. But A Sighting of Mr Hot-Cross-Buns is still for sale on the Redemptions tab. The access codes no longer work, though.
ETA Looks like you can still buy Lemonade and Hot-Cross-Buns but the rest are gone. Don’t know about Tiles though. I’m guessing it’s a glitch.

I wasn’t expecting it so soon, some of the bars were still pretty far to be filled! I guess once more people caught up and finished up their hunts and things there were a lot more hands on deck.
I guess we’ll see what’s next come Monday. I’m looking forward to more chaos!
I’m on my way to the Khanate now, to pick up the weekly agent report and also check if Mr Tiles is still there.
For that Unsnarled Time thing, I probably did it two or three times, that’s all.
After this, it’ll be more law hunting and law forging.
For those who finished their dinner without turning in the clues, are they permanently locked out of obtaining the Urchin reward? You needed three. That would truly suck.
I still have five ‘Sightings of Mister’ on my profile. But there is no way to reverse the progress and go back into the Candied Door.
Sounds like this is exactly what happened.
Adding another ‘Dine with Mr Dinners again’ option before the end of the event should mitigate the situation.
On hindsight, ‘Take your own seat’ should have been greyed out before at least three Masters were found and turned in.

Is it…done? Stuff seems to have disappeared? All the hint page says now is " Get back to it. Return to the Estival hub." Why do I still see “Hear a squeaking melody”? So confused.
There’s still the law-forging to do-- it’s currently at 168,604 (that is, “Stability Through Combustion” is). I don’t know-- and I don’t know if it actually says anywhere-- what it’s supposed to reach for things to advance, though.

I’m doing a bit of law hunting myself, should I focus on law forging instead?
My plan now:
Hunt laws, nightmare gets to around 4, go to Railway place and play with my Hellworm to lower nightmare. Go back to London and hunt more laws.
I love it when there’s a reliable method to lower a menace, without being at the mercy of the fickle RNG gods.

FBG said in their update post that they are resting over the weekend, so the next stage will probably begin on Monday when they are in the office* to supervise it.
*Speaking figuratively, since they are now a fully remote company

Is there something I’m missing with the elephant thing? As far as I understand I should satisfy the condition, but I’m just locked out of it like normal.

Since we don’t know the amount law forging needs to reach to advance, it’s possible at some point it will reach it and close, like the Book of Hours did, whereas it doesn’t look like law hunting is going to. So you might be safer doing a bit of forging first.
How is the Hellworm not dependant on the RNG???

If you check your qualities, is the No Evidence of Elephants there or missing? As far as I understand it, you should be able to access that storylet every time your number of rats is different from the number it was last time you played it, so is it possible you already had 12345 rats when you played it prior to the Candied Door? If so, I think you could fix that by buying a rat, doing it, and then selling the rat again and doing it again.
Otherwise, the wiki says the only requirements are finishing the Candied Door and the 12345 rats on a string, so if you’ve got those, I can’t think what else you could be missing.
