Christmas Wishes in Fallen London

That would stink for monday people, though. The extra free evenings are a rare treasure- to lose them because it’s on their TTH day would be quite irksome. At least, if it’s capped at 5 like i remember it being.

I’m also a bit concerned about the lack of snow, it was my favorite part of December in the neath to get both characters TtH without a single flake has me worried. Hopefully whatever is happening back at Failbetter to cause the change will be worth it, they’ve done fairly well by the game over the years so I expect they’ve got good reason for the delay

A bucket of CAT?!

Just my kind of bucket! Not the usual type of cat bucket I collect, I usually cast my liquid cats into buckets rather than fill buckets with them.

likely a precuation against password-guessing. That is a thing that happens in some games, you know.

I have picked the best time to return from hiatus, yes?

Or it’s an acronym for Christmas Attack Tears…

Looking at the page source again, I noticed some Javascript that appears to cause a snowfall effect starting on the 6th, which increases in intensity as time passes. Maybe snowbound will come tomorrow then.

Oooh, that sounds pretty cool. I look forward to seeing it in action (assuming my computer lets me - it gets grouchy in its old age).

Have you checked your cellar lately?

Has anyone tried opening a door for the first time after the day for it has passed? I’m going to be traveling and wondering how vigilant I need to be.

That… was a strange gift.
@Ocelot - I’m betting my left hand that it does work several days after the day itself has past.

@an ocelot: someone I know just started the game, and all the doors worked except the first. No Christmas cards, worse luck. But he is rather well-dressed for a complete noob. So Gonen’s left hand is safe.

I think the best part of this access code is if you live in the emporium, it means the rubberymen in your basement are excavating the Bazaar itself.

Oh dear, Bazaar won’t suspect it was me, right?

Probably one of the most memorable gifts a young player can have.

That’s a difficult one, I’m really not sure if i want to open today’s door. I have Candles that I don’t want to lose but on the other hand maybe I could send it on to someone who wants it or a Scuttering Squad and doesn’t mind the gamble.

Could someone-one with past experiences of Rats of Glory summarise the mechanics please? I looked on Wiki but it’s not entirely clear.

How much do you stand to lose? Can it activate repeatedly or only once? If repeatedly then indefinitely?

What are the mechanics of activation? Is it a living story? Or some sort of automatic Must storylet with some randomiser quality?

It’s activated by clicking it on your Inventory like a normal one-use items such as Laudanum. I haven’t encountered any opp cards associated with it yet.

You can only use it once if you’re going to trade it for a pet. I’m not sure about the candles-related action though. I think that’s not a good gamble given that some of those candles are REALLY hard to come by.
