Celebrating good fortune.

There is a woman on the other side of a mirror. She begged me to stop a quest, to not waste any more on the mad journey. She never realized that I had reached the end already. I knocked on the gate. I entered each key, and- one by one- I snapped each one off in a different lock. the door did not open. I did not expect it to, not in this dark fairy-land. There are truths that cannot be reached on the wrong side of a mirror.

It was the fate of the keys that mattered.

I have no more homes, now. No more orphanages, either. Well, that is… not the complete truth. I own premises at the bazaar- a new key, bought with new money. I have even upgraded them.

Someday, I will add more to the collection- abet not many more. Today is not that day. I am free of a greivous weight. Not the name, even in the pits of hunger that is as light as a feather. No, the torment of being an owner of property I do not use. I am free. No more shall the library darken my doors. No more shall I have to smile and nod in the gambling dens. I have done it, I have won!

I told the bazaar a story. it proved interested.

Today I finished trading souls to have a grand pile of 10,000,000 nevercold brass. With it I have built an infernal contraption on distilled a firkin of hesperidean cider and gained immortality!

I realize I already said this (fprobably ~1.5 years ago), but I’m so glad I managed to sell my soul to the devils before starting seeking, rather than after. :)

Congratulations again, Apollo, way to go!
Was very busy yesterday so decided to delay my visit to the mind of a God, but started it today!
Got my Urchin 40 renown item and thanks to the options there I finally hit level 200 cap with all my skills. Time to check this in my list of achievements and I can freely ruin them however I like!

I hit 42 tears of the bazaar. (echo value: 13125 echoes)

Drinking them would probably be a bad idea, I guess.

Earned my Spire Emporium this Neathmas. A great way to celebrate a one-year anniversary, I’d say.

I was just doing an expedition and got &quota sign?&quot 3 times in a row. Each one has only about a 1/20 chance of happening so this a 1/8000 event.

My youngest, Seeker character got their classic short story on their first attempt.
Even though a lot of the persuasive challenges were chancy and they used only two trade secrets they didn’t fail a step. I was sure their luck would run out at some point and I was so relieved when they took the last step and succeeded.

I had a perfect run on the Polite Invitation! Arriving fashionably late with a rare success to lose only 1 time remaining, getting a favour from the rubbery man in the 50/50 change at time remaining 5, getting a Docks favour through a rare success during the last dance, and drawing another rubbery entrepreneur card straight away to get another favour at time remaining 2. Feeling satisfied.

I just hunted down an Impossible Theorem on my first attempt! Another thing off the bucket list :)
(See, it’s totally possible to rebuild after ruining yourself for SMEN!)

A while ago, I reached the point in the Affair of the Box that required me to start collecting boxes of intrigue and gave me the Empire’s Kingmaker quality. I saw an opportunity–for what could be more poetic that to be an Empire’s Kingmaker at level 77? I decided to grind for the quality before progressing with the story.

And lo and behold, I did it! …only to find out that the next step of the Affair of the Box requires me to perform the same circuit again. Now I can only progress the story through the faction conflict opportunity cards that give boxes of intrigue without any Empire’s Kingmaker (and there are fewer of those since the favors/reknown system was implemented for the Urchins) if I don’t want to mess up my Number. Grrr.

In the meantime, though, I successfully crafted a Classic Short Story! Needless to say, it makes my mantle look quite stunning.

You could always set a goal to raise it to 777?

Given how the Boxful of Intrigue is the baseline grind for most people, a goal of even 7777 won’t be unthinkable.

It’s quite tempting… Does anyone know if this circuit closes after you progress farther with the Affair of the Box?

You don’t get locked out.

What a great 24 hours - I managed to both get my Bifurcated Owl, and win my first Cryptobotanical Rosette (rather unexpectedly, since I was mostly challenged by others, apart from this last victory). Now, to take a deep breath and continue towards the Ubergoat.
I have to say that Rosette is rather ugly, though - I suspect it will only last a couple of days on my mantelpiece, then to be clawed down again by the Owl.

I was in the Cave Of The Nadir, drew the Rosers card three times…and got three Searing Enigmas in one trip.

Excuse me?! What was your success rate and how many cards can your lodging hold?
I really want to get an approximation of the chance to get that card 3 times and success on all 3.

Today, my tomb colonist acquaintances got me shopping for my very own bandages! They have some of my favourite colours and are comfortable to wear. I also fell in love with the text about the shopping trip and re-read it a couple of times already. Very proud and accomplished feeling :D.
