Celebrating good fortune.

Impressive, impressive all of you! One day…
… after I get out of prison! But I made myself a new friend! One who pulls the string is in my pocket and I only need the Tomb moth, but I’m not in a rush anymore! :)

So about three weeks ago my Seeking alt had 6 favours with the Rubbery Men when they drew the Rubbery Men card. I decided that they might as well start grinding up the renown early, because why not? They had access to the Forgotten Quarter and my main had found about 4 Nodules of Pulsating Amber while searching for eyeless skulls, so I figured that this would pretty simple.

Three weeks of wandering the Forgotten Quarter or at the Shuttered Palace using honey to drown the resulting nightmares. 8 Brass Rings. 12 eyeless skulls. Hundreds of Appalling Secrets and thousands of fourth city relics. Enough honey spent to fill quite a few Olympic-sized pools. Until this morning, when they woke up to do it all again and found the nodule sitting in their fireplace.

I’m going to see if they can do a bunch of expeditions and use the remaining open slot in their hand to start the Cave of the Nadir storyline before they draw a third eyeless skull card, because I just know that if I sell their remaining 2 skulls (traded in the other two for Ray-Drenched Cinders already) it’ll take another few weeks to find another.

Edit a few minutes later: Just picked up another skull from an expedition to a shrine.

Er, why bother grinding renown on a Seeker? It’s not going to do them any good.

Why seek? It doesn’t do them any good. Quite the contrary.

It actually sounded quite exhilarating. Good enough reason for me!

Finally a Person of Some Importance, now.

check stats

I might have sat around for too long since all my raw stats are 150 and above.

Lovely to see how people progress more and how some have very odd achievements!
My turn though, Santa was a bit late with the card, but I’m now the proud owner of an Ubergoat! Next bit materials achievement: Cider!

I began preparing for an expedition to the Nadir just before Christmas. When I decided it was time to start wandering the Quarter, I found an eyeless skull on the first attempt. Then today, I got the Docks, Mynah, and Mayor of London opportunity cards back-to-back, for 12 extra crates of supplies in about a minute and a half. It looks like I’ll be heading out for the Nadir a lot sooner than I thought!

It might be exhilarating for you, but you’re not the one eating your own teeth. Have a little sympathy for your character! (I say as I’m about to kill mine several times over)

If you’re already here push a little more to 321! I decided to stop at 390-400 and I just joggle with Hell and Widow conflict cards.
Cheers and congratulations!

I’m the annoying one who got his/her soul back twice in a few weeks last January, so I promptly sold it again and had been flipping cards and exchanging surprise packages since. January just rolled round again and guess what? The one’s public card gave my soul back.

I’m not sure if I’m having the best ever week in Fallen London or the worst. Just a couple days ago I had posted in the Commiserations thread about discarding not one, but two mood cards due to a split-second freeze of my browser, and yet ten minutes ago I managed by some miracle to publish a classic short story. Consolation from the RNG gods maybe?

I shouldn’t have risked it. I spent two months waiting for those two trade secrets, and I should have waited another to improve my chances of getting a classic short story. I had a 60% chance, and clicked…
And since I’m on the good fortune thread, I can’t really build suspense. I obviously succeeded. Now all I have to do it chuck it down a well in a few weeks.

I must congratulate you all, I must!
As the Penstock’s Wicket open yesterday I got my Bazaar lodgings, 2 remote, finished the promise to the Duchess and got a Soothe & Cooper Long-Box and free buckets to do as I please. I didn’t know I’ll be kick out of the market every time, BUT I got the Aunt card 3 times yesterday and all were success!
Today I decided to play with the “snow” and my first attempt to feed it to a monkey was success! Need to find a name for my little Dark-Carapaced Crustacean.

Oh my goodness, I just opened a bundle of oddities on the One’s Public card and out popped Myrto’s soul! I had been considering getting it back with fate, but I guess I don’t have to now!

As this is something I’m looking for I congratulate you, mate! Managed to get it back first time very fast, second with Fate and third… still waiting after more than a hundred packages and few hundred of other possible bundles (Zee, One’s Public, Hallowmas, Noman).

…The Fluke fissures: it becomes an expanding wheel of dark fragments…

I am now an owner of a fluke core!

I have reached the Heptagoat threshold! If I were to sell everything I own (except my Ubergoat), I could buy 12 Overgoats. Smoosh them into 6 Ubergoats (for a total of 7). And then smoosh all those together to make a Heptagoat. I could. But I won’t. I didn’t get into this nonsense for some mangy goat. I got into it for Cider. I will taste the garden! I will dream of its fauna and feel it’s dirt on my finger tips! I will bask in the light of the mountain! I will… cough sorry. Got carried away there.

Congratulations, An Individual. Currently I can’t even imagine having the resources for one taxi goat. Good luck with your cider.
