Don’t spend Trade Secrets on stat boosts. It’s a huge waste.
The most profitable thing you can do, AFAIK, is to buy a bunch of Winsome Orphans and turn them in for tribute. The tribute you have when you go to court, the closer to 2.2 EPA you get (as the actions expended while Zailing are relatively less and less significant), so build up on that and buy the Goats once you have enough for both.

You get a Searing Enigma and 5 Antique Mysteries (125e) for only ten actions (12.5EPA). You’re of course allowed to get the stat points but Trade Secrets are worth a ton. They’re also one of the only reliable ways to get your score high enough to guarantee a Classic Short Story, if you’re looking for one.
If you have two characters, you can get a fair amount of Sudden Insights from playing chess between them. It’s cheap but effective (the more you lose, the more you get). Same goes for Sanguine Ribbons (loser gets 5 Hard-Earned Lessons, each round lost gives one, you can avoid actually dying because of silliness). That’s pretty much going to give the best results if you’re willing to cheese things.

Thanks! I already have a Classical Short Story, no clue what to do with it though :/
Just keep it. It’s incredibly annoying to get and not worth selling for the amount of effort it takes to get it.
I had hoped it was an item, like a weapon or home-comfort when I first looked at the challenge, since it was incredibly hard to acquire.

Nope. They cannot even be mounted as Comforts or Weapons–they appear in your Curiosities section.
I am a newly minted Paramount Presence, an Author, and a Scarlet Saint (not that anyone asked, but why go for the pointless achievement if you cannot brag somewhere?)
I am a Midnighter, a veteran player of the Game, and now a Paramount Presence.

At last, I have become a Paramount Presence. "(1116 days ago) A stranger slipped you a note! …but by the time you turn, they’re already gone." The Correspondent profession seems to be the most popular. I believe that I’ve been a Patron in all four qualities. Is it now possible to be a Patron in any of them? My last quality to reach 215 was Shadowy and I became an Invisible Eminence. I would like to continue helping others. Best wishes to all! Jamit EDIT: I see that there are more options on dealings with patronage now. How wonderful!

I too have made Paramount Presence
My profile is here: http://fallenlondon.storynexus.com/Profile/slapchops
And obviously Im a correspondent
I also wish to add my name to the rolls of London’s Paramount Presences. My profile can be found here: http://fallenlondon.storynexus.com/profile/Gergerous
I am a Midnighter, a watcher from the shadows, unraveler of secrets.
And suddenly, very available. So if anyone needs a patron, or a speaker for their Orphanage… :)
I have been paramount for a little while. Glassman, for the time being.
Hullo! I recently became a Paramount Presence, and am delighted to join the ranks of such an august group. I am a Correspondent, a Deacon in the Church, and an ersatz doorman of the Temple Club.
I have finally completed the road to Paramount Presence! A proud Citizen, Glassman (previously a Monster-Hunter), and aspirant to the Calendar Council, Hotshot has plumbed the secrets of the stars, advanced the cause of Liberation, grown to extreme influence over Constables and Criminals alike, and expressed his lifelong devotion to his beloved squid-wife in order to reach this point.
Congratulations! I suppose that now you’re a Big Shot, Hotshot.
Theoretta Rizing, Correspondent, is pleased to announce she has joined the ranks of Paramount Presences and is cracking some Morelways 1872 to commemorate the occasion.
