Oh, I’m one of those too! I’m a Correspondent. And I still have my zub and am still stubbornly single. But I have wonderful Crooked Cross friends, to whom I owe thanks for many salon visits!
It had been a month without the last mood card I needed, but now that wait is over and I join the ranks: http://fallenlondon.storynexus.com/Profile/Ray%20Trevelyan?fromEchoId=13566523
Glassman due to youthful unwise choices, on which I am about to double down with a parabola tattoo for good measure.
I can also count myself amongst the paramount presences
My proffesion is Crooked Cross

And Cider holder and PP and married to a happy Secular Missionary. Big congratulations!
I’ve actually been able to achieve Paramount Presence status for several months now, but I held off because I wanted to correct an unfortunate dip in my Legendary Persuasive thanks to opening a boxed cat without thinking and needed to grind my notability up accordingly.
I considered hanging on until the 14th to make it exceptionally special and in line with my birthday, but felt I had waited long enough.
Indigo Clardmond (a…notary? Hmm.) is now also a Paramount Presence of the Fifth City.
I am happy to announce that Sir Reginald Monteroy (Correspondent with a professional interest in Seekers) has recently joined the Paramount Presences (as well as Poet-Laureates, coincidentally) after a rather leisured effort.
As a personal celebration, in hopes of perhaps amusing someone, a short and fanciful description of how this may have transpired follows for whoever may be interested.
You go about the morning business in the club as usual, enjoying a cup of tea and the occasional remark about today’s edition of the Gazette with your fellow Paramounts.
Suddenly, the door squeaks open and an odd figure enters. His countenance is as haphazard as his beard is unkempt, and at first you think he must be honey-mazed. Then you recall you have seen this man at both Court and University, always either reading or feverishly scribbling away at something. Violant-stained fingers and a smoldering top hat mark him as a devout scholar of the Correspondence. Rimmed with old-fashioned spectacles, his starry eyes with the slightest trace of irrigo seem to look straight through you, and the dark circles beneath speak of innumerable nights spent plumbing the wonders of the Neath.
He stops a few steps into the room and reaches into a pocket. After a short escapade involving a pair of unexpected weasels and several sheets filled with poems and notes, he brings out a peculiar timepiece. He studies the Correspondence-inlayed face for a moment, then puts it away, automatically dousing his eyebrows as they catch fire. His eyes seem to focus slightly closer to the immediate reality of his surroundings, and he addresses no-one in particular:
“Um, greetings and salutations, gentleladies and gentlemen. Am I correct in assuming that this is a gathering place for the veteran – er, old- I mean, Paramount gentlepeople of our fine city? I seem to, ahah, have just recently joined your ranks, and thought I should come by and greet you nice folks, if that is well?”
At that, a sympathetic butler approaches him and gently leads the man and his weasels to a free table, there to await breakfast, coffee and presumably whatever sort of medicine he forgot to take.
You only wonder if the dark buttons on his coat betray a hint of a darker purpose, and if perhaps his flagrant absent-mindedness might not in fact conceal a keenly observing judgment.

I am excited to announce that I, the Swordprefect, was just inducted into the ranks of Paramount Presences. As a Midnighter, I am honored to step forth from the shadows into these ranks of those who are known to puppeteer the strings of our dear London.[li]
[li]Helena Korinek, the Bohemian Metatheologian, is now among London’s Paramount Presences. She is a Correspondent by profession. Pleased to join this rarefied community!
At long last, WadeArc has become a Paramount Presence.
Robin Blacksmith, Glassman, and latest Paramount Presence.

I am happy to announce that I am now a Paramount Presence. I’m a correspondent. I completed Watchful first with the Courier’s Footprint, then I committed to the Celebrated Model for Persuasive, Advanced the Liberation of the Night for Dangerous, and stole enough echoes for Shadowy.

Lord Norm, the Watchful Midnighter, has just become a Paramount Presence![li]

I’ve completed my climb, and thus the summit got a little more crowded… But I won’t complain, as the company here is excellent - so many fellow Correspondents!
Jenson Shepherd has made it into the ranks of the Paramount.
Presently a Midnighter by trade he has been admitted for his commitment to his wife, collection of rare London materials, knowledge of the correspondence and proficiency with death. Also he can’t die, which is pretty cool. And has one of each kind of goat.
Was really wondering when you’ll pop up in this thread! Congratulations for the combo, mate!
Congratulations to (as of now) the 52 Paramount Presences. As I write this, I’m beginning to embark on the long, long road to Paramount Prescencehood, and hopefully, one day, my name may grace this list.
(Oh, and Jenson, I need a profile link. Thanks :P)
Took me long enough, but a Paramount Presence I am.

I happen to be a Correspondent.
Congrats to all Paramount Presences :D
I’m currently working on itself, about a week from London’s Marrow, after that London’s Blood is in reach.
Any tips for grinding Dangerous or Watchful levels, besides the four weekly Trade Secret? (And which one of the London’s Nerves would be easiest to acquire? Cheers~)
Assuming you haven’t finished the University investigations, asking the Porters at the cost of 50 Cryptic Clues gives 104 Whispered Hints and a Sudden Insight, so on average that’d be 31 Watchful per 6 actions.
For London’s Nerves:
-Ubergoat is some 22000 echoes (11000 actions at 2.2 epa, +1 action to combine your goats and 1(?) Fate)
-For Scholar, assuming you get to 10 with other stuff, that’s 176 actions for Perhaps you can remember something useful. Total cost would be 1760 Maniacs’ Prayer, 2750 Correspondence Plaques, 176 Aeolian Screams, 176 Extraordinary Implications, and 176-528 points of Wounds. Not counting Wound reduction, that’s 2431 echoes worth of stuff, which would take a fair number of actions to acquire but not necessarily as much as an Ubergoat.
-For Chess, I think it’s like 3 actions per game, so in an ideal world, 300 actions to reach 100 Mastery, if we assume 50/50 chances, 600 actions. It should help if you have a weak alt to fight against. Chess with the Boatman would take somewhere in the realm of 403 actions, assuming absolute perfect Watchful. However, I almost certainly screwed up a bit in there and you probably won’t have 100% Watchful gear, as that requires a mood, a profession item, and Ubergoat. Hands hurt too much to calculate more but I’d add like 15 actions, so in the realm of 1050 actions.
There’s probably a few errors but that should give you a general idea.[i]

Sadly, I have finished said investigations in exchange for Flute Street for a Bifurcated Owl.
I’m going for Money, Money, Money for the London’s Marrow, so I’ll have that as starting capital for the Übergoat, would it be best to built up on that fortune or first buy one overgoat? (~12k London’s Marrow is ~10k)
Thank you very much for the calculations :)
