…and another one. I spent the 11 pulsating amber, and employed my Dream Hound to Parabola. Can I add the Bengal Tigress and Urchin army too? I would hate to purchase all that and then just… not be able to do anything with those.
No, those options are mutually exclusive. Once you’ve got the rubberies and the hound, your base-camp has no need for the urchins and the tigress.
Thank you!
The content is, indeed, vast. Having a way to reduce liberation is amazing. The new qualities are great. Only thing I don’t love, is the action cost to get in and out (especially when you are still discovering what you need) and the BDR requirements of the Bone Market. The much requested fifth BDR slot would have come in really handy.
On the other hand, I suspect social actions must be at an all-time low, since the new content more or less locks you in an unnaproachable area. I try to get out as soon as I run out of actions, lest I find mysef an academic recluse.
So I’ve got my lab, loving everything so far.
Quick question though - was surprised to see that between all the students and the experts, I couldn’t use my Fraught Research Assistant anywhere? I know he’s Fraught and everything, but this is what he’s there for! I am Researching, and I need Assistance!!

One thing I hope FBG changes once the content is fully implemented is making the Bone Market an infinite-deck location. Now that it costs actions, we might as well be able to experiment with outfits without having to worry about optimizing draws.
Just spent the Fate to get the Silk-Clad Expert back and I’m so glad that’s even an option! She’s so much fun! It’s so good to see her again! ^_^
I kind of hope we get more Items for Glasswork, KT, MA and PoC.
Either having mods for two of them on a single item or a single mod at +2 or higher.

By the way, has anyone found any special options for Licentiates? I know the Glasspeople get discounts going to/from Parabola, Midnighters have an easier time at the Chessboard, Correspondents with the Lab, Crooked Crosses at the Chessboard and the Bone Market, and Monster Hunters with hunting. but I haven’t seen anything for Licentiates yet.
Licentiates have an option while hunting unlocked with Airs of Parabola.

Yes actually, while hunting! An option can come up that gets you Hinterland Scrip and decreases the ferocity of your target.

I’ve also heard Licentiates get an option at the Chessboard as well.
If we’re talking about what one would like to see in this update, unexpectedly, I’d want to see the option to upgrade my Grubby Urchin. He was there all the time while all these students came and went, from the RP side he would already know more about my lab than anyone except me (maybe).
Also, something to hunt besides birds. Honestly, as if Parabola was a wing country.
This one is definitely non-realistic, but I liked the idea of mechanical computer from Season of Skies to solve problems in dangerous languages. At least I can imagine building a small model in the corner of my lab.
I’ve just found out there is an option to RESEARCH AN IMPOSSIBLE THEOREM with maxed out equipment. If anyone has the results and interactinos echoed in their journal for that option, please share. I lack the first city coins/devilbone dice or Fate-bought election item to even try getting to the next tier of equipment for at least another year.

There are other areas that have the same behavior and we are all just fine with it.
So since the Reflection of a Shifty Student is a Future Dean I have to ask…are the Reflections of other Students any different? or do they all just Reflect into the Future Dean?
Each student has a unique reflection.
I added these yesterday so they’re all in my journal (starting/finishing the research, and the new options on Direct your own Research: spending enigmas/incanabula and using red science). If you’ll look at the wiki and compare the text/titles you should find all of them in my journal on the last pages.

Yes. The Meticulous Stedent’s Reflection is of a Future Librarian, and produces less Parabolan Research than the Future Dean.
Interesting how useless things in London become very useful inside the mirror.
Ι love how it’s the Shifty student becomes Dean. Very sharp commentary on Academia, I must say.
I don’t think the Reflections of the assistants are their future, or at least their true futures. I think it’s more like their aspirations, or a reflection of their inner serlves. The Numismatrix is not destined to become a Master, it’s just that she is (or views herself as) a master over her domain comparable to them.
Possibly similar to how cats in Parabola are tigers and jaguars. If a housecat is a shift student, then a tiger is the Dean.
Not so much how they view themselves as their symbolic image in general narrative - Parabola is heavy on stories, remember?
