I always found it amusing that the Widow only gives 240 jade fragments for 120 Connected: The Widow. A tad too stingy, no?
How about retaining the same option (240 jade fragments) as a reward, but make it cheaper. And have other options to exchange Connected: The Widow for Khanate stuff e.g. jasmine tea leaves, Khaganate coinage etc.
Also, we need a central currency exchange for more advanced players, with fluctuating weekly rates. Echoes - Scrips - Khaganate coin - Stuivers should be exchangable at a location.

So when working with a Tier 3 profession, are there just some things you can never claim from the “payment for services rendered” storylet? Because I’ve been working as a Correspondent for a while and have never gotten any tasks that give me services rendered for Zailors, Tomb-Colonists, the Great Game, and several others.
Correct.
Each Profession can initially provide Services for 3 factions only.
For Correspondents, the factions are Bohemians, Society and Hell.
Eventually you will be able to choose a Professional Specialisation, gaining the ability to provide Services for a fourth faction.
For Correspondents, the fourth faction is either Benthic or Zailors, depending on your Specialisation.

How do you pronounce Gebrandt?
Strictly German.

I’d instinctively put the stress on the first syllable, though, unlike in “gebrannt”.

My instinct was always on the last syllable. On the other hand, I don’t speak German in the least so that’s mostly just based on semi-recognizing ge- as an Old English prefix.
I don’t actually think Gebrandt is German. The name seems more Dutch to me. I just read many things in a satirical harsh German accent.
Yeah, I think it’s more commonly a Dutch name.
Also, I’m hopeful the game will eventually expand Professional Activities options. Let me monster-hunt for some Clay Men or Zailors, darnit.

I imagine many things in the game would have to be dramatically restructured for the team to even begin to consider this.

Oh I’m sure. I just don’t like any of the grinds for Scrip. Haven’t done anything on the roof though, so I don’t know how bad it is to get Stuivers. I have plenty of ways to get a ton of Echos though, but no good way to covert it.
If you don’t like script grinds, what echo grinds do you do? There are so many options to grind scrip: there’s lab grinds (most importantly Cartographer’s Hoards), City in Silver, Helicon House, expeditions and monographs in Moulin, there’s Khanate stuff, digging at The Hurlers, professional activities (the food option), chess in parabola, you can even just buy stones in the side street and sell them at the Hurlers. Those are the ones I remember from the top of my head, ignoring bone market. If none of those are to your liking, what kind of grind is?
The scrip grind I ended up doing most (largely because it was very straightforward) was piracy–> trade plunder for fabulous diamonds–> sell those at the Hurlers. It could be tedious at times, but then it wouldn’t be a grind otherwise.
(I’ve been doing the same a lot lately except selling the diamonds to the Bazaar, but maybe there’s a more profitable grind for echoes)
