Here’s this week’s thread for quick questions!
I’ll be first out of the gate and ask mine…where have the BDR indicators gone?
You know, the three stat-doodads that measure your total modified BDR.
Yeah, they no longer show up when I equip stuff that would increase it like my Gang of Hoodlums…or my Blemmigan Tourist…or my Academic Gown.

Yup, BDR gone for now. :) Probably some updates cooking!
Huh, my Bizarre is still there but not my DR. Presumably because I have two Bizarre tattoos, so its unmodified level is above zero!
Huh, my Dreaded is showing up for me but not the other two… in what is surely a coincidence, my base Dreaded is 2 before equipment because of tattoos.
Edit: Simulposted with Sir Frederick… the coincidence thickens!

Ah, well, I wasn’t able to get any Tattoos this year (I hadn’t advanced that far into the Clathermonts personal soap opera) so maybe that’s why they aren’t showing up for me.
Also I just checked with my Brass Ring and this seems to apply to the K&C stats as well (The Ring gives +2 to Baroque)
I guess the modifiers would still apply for Notability from the Amenuensis though.

Same here - only my tattooed stat (Bizarre) is showing up.
Likewise.
Is the Trail of Crumbs storylet that’s showing everywhere a new thing, or is it part of the July exceptional story (which I’ve unlocked but haven’t played yet)? It’s unlocked by having no Blemmigan Tourists, and the wiki page for it seems new. I could swear I’ve heard the term Blemmigan around here, but in what context I’m not certain.
(Edit: or, maybe, I could just play it and find out. It seems unrelated. And also adorable! Somehow I missed the trail of crumbs thread below even after a quick search. I will be baking cakes if anyone needs me.)

I got a question…On my main, Nullman, I have finished all '‘Making your name’'s apart from Mahogany hall, there’s still some stuff to be done, but I generally am not too interested with looking into that just yet because he is a watchful individual, rather than shadowy or persuasive. My question is though, how do I continue increasing my watchful? It is currently at an unmodified 158, and I certainly do want it to reach 200 so that I may do some unfinished business in Ladybones road. Are there any good alternatives to simply playing lots of chess? Just for reference, he was thrown out of the University, so have I perhaps missed an opportunity there? Should I go on a zee-voyage, establish some research and get re-invited back to the university to continue steadily raising watchful?

Yeah, you can get readmitted to the university, as that’s mostly watchful challenges.
There isn’t enough content in the game to get to 200 in every stat without grinding. Watchful is actually one of the better ones; most run out of content around 130 or so. Just keep playing the game, doing random stuff that requires watchful, and you’ll get there eventually.
If you want higher Watchful you’ll surely want an Overgoat or two, and that costs quite a lot. So much so that you would surely reach unmodified Watchful 200 before being able to afford one.
Has the previous season’s end of season epilogue gone up yet? I got the impression it was delayed by the Election, but I still haven’t seen a card yet.
If you have a good nightmare reduction strategy Seeking Curios in the Forgotten Quarter can be a great stat builder. Primarily watchful but there are various options that use/raise the others.
It can also be profitable, though rewards tend to be random mystery items (secrets, cryptic clues, tales of terror). There are also a couple of rare successes that give Eyeless Skulls (value dependent on if you don’t mind raising Liberation of the Night) and the 62 echo rubbery item

If you plan to stick around AND want a zub, grinding Whirring Contraptions for it is a good way to raise Watchful (either via the Flit / Wilmot’s End carousel, or with Unfinished Business wax upconversions if you don’t mind raising LoN). Just don’t actually build it before you’re done Seeking. Contraptions themselves and Winking Isle-safe.
For Watchful, try expeditions. Lots and lots and lots of expeditions; they are profitable, rather fun and a good way to use your Docks favors!
how do i get favors: society FAST?
i cant use the big top and im not waiting for a card to come along.
(also how do i make it so i can use the big top for society?)
You don’t get favours fast. Most favours come from cards and as far as I know there is no other way to get Society excepting turning cards and hoping the RNG is kind. Tip for that is to use the places that don’t have location specific cards - the Forgotten Quarter and The Labyrinth of Tigers. Good luck and may the RNG be kind.
The options at the Carnival close when you get to a certain level of renown. The only other thing is that you need Carnival tickets to use those things. Use mouseover and you will find out why you can’t use the big top.
I’m seeing what Sir Fred is seeing–only the BDR qualities I’ve increased with a tattoo are displaying for me.
Society is, actually, the easiest Favour to grind. You should obrtain as much Opportunity cards that will give you Society favours. Joining the Young Stags is one of them, if you’re a POSI; obtaining the Clay Men carriage is another ("Use the opportunity to treat them well" provides a Favour). A good walk-through of the Polite Invitation card gives up to 3 Society favours (one for Jovial Contrarian at step 4, one for Rubbery Man at step 5, one for leaving and speaking with a Quite Statesman). And, of course, paying the visits to the Wry Functionary or Sardonic Singer gives Society favours.
