The Twelve Days of Mr Sacks have Begun!

The results are standardized, but not identical. It’s probably not supposed to be generous- merely a way to preserve quirks, should you lack any to spare.

Thanks. I’ll try burning quirks a little first then if spending the extra actions isn’t helping. Then I can throw more time at zubmarine farming.

well that’s it. cashing out connections for my alt, which should hopefully increase the chance of drawing mister sacks. he still haven’t upgraded to a 5-card lodging, but has 13 ToL to spare.

Query- I’ve been having a d-mnamble time getting my ToL up to 9 (in the hopes of upgrading my rooms at the Bazaar). If I do not partake of Penstock’s Wicket this year, will that stat carry over to next year, or must I “use it or lose it”, as my crude American cousin is so fond of saying?

Have no fear, Macragg! ToL remains from year to year. It’s only the buckets that melt away.

OK. I’ve searched the forum for help, and I am still confused (and this is my second Sacksmas too!).

I have TOL 6, and one bucket left. I would like to maximize the last bucket because I’d like to get TOL 7 for the suite at the Royal Bethlehem.

What is the safeest/best way to get to TOL 7?

Thanks for your advice, fellow more-experienced Londoners.

Spend a point of ToL in the Wicket, then use the bucket with the semiotic monocle. Taking the air or searching the shore should cost 1 ToL.

If you have SOTC 10 and a semionic monocle, you’ll be able to gain 3 ToL IF under 6. In Penstock, Walk along the shore to lower your ToL by 1, and then use that option to increase your ToL from 5 to 8. It’s a SOTC check, which is 100% at 10. What I’m not sure is if it will kick you out of Penstock if you go back to your inventory to use the Pail.

[quote=delphinus]I still can’t find the last two Sacks cards. Grrrr. So frustrating. Oh well, guess this gives me time to waste some more actions on the Fisher Kings. That’s always interesting.

Edit: Hah! Got them! Not enough ToL to do anything in the Wicket, but I got the cards.

I have 6 Tol and I’ve accidentally wasted a pail of so called snow (no increase as it’s already above 4) but I’m still waiting for cards 11 and 12 :)

Thanks so much, Parelle and Suinicide. This is what I thought, but I wasn’t sure and didn’t want to waste my last bucket! I will go off to follow your advice. I do have SoTC at 10 and the monocle, so this should be quick. This Sacksmas has been a good one. Got my 5 card lodgings at the Brass Embassy and the Royal Bethlehem, and a noman to see what happens (I will not be able to keep him alive till Valentine’s day, but I’m enjoying the writing).

On a related note, my alt is still waiting on Mr Sacks 6!! Grrrr!! Why do the cards hate me?!

Still waiting for 8 or 9.

DAMN! Just got day 9 and misclicked! Now I have one pail of snow less. This is one of the most frustrating misclicks of my entire FL life.

(Just come here to vent a bit…)

Did they set a limit to when you could start it? I feel like I may have missed it on my alt?

There are no time limits for this, if you aren’t drawing the cards you are just unlucky, be patient(and if you are too unlucky, the cards will become storylets eventually).

You start it with a storylet (found anywhere in Lodon), not a card.

If you’ve played this Day 1 storylet, then the rest of the cards are unlocked for you, and you should draw them eventually.
