Dear fellow duelists and other delicious friends, it is with a heavy heart that I announce the official closure of the Sanguine Ribbon Society. A recent update to Fallen London removed several social actions, including sparring bouts of both the Lethal and non-Lethal variety, thus rendering the Society unable to continue in its present form.
I want to thank everyone who fought Lethal Sparring Bouts through the SRS and particularly those who participated in the last four tournaments that I organized. I had a lot of fun putting those together, and watching as the duelists fought hundreds of bouts with each other. Special thanks also to those who offered encouragement, donations, assistance, and invaluable suggestions, and also to SRS founder Mike Hawk who entrusted the SRS to me.
I will leave the SRS document online for posterity, so that those who wish to view the two Sanguine Halls of Fame and the final Leaderboard may do so. Regarding the remaining First City Coins in the SRS Treasury: if any recent donors desire refunds, inform me and I will arrange it. Otherwise, I will follow the suggestion of Sixth Tournament Champion Tsar Koschei and retain the funds in trust for a possible future event or reconstitution of the Society should any social actions similar to sparring become available.
Thanks again, everyone. And remember: keep your blades sharp, and your wits sharper still.
It was a good society, one I was proud to be part of (and to be a champion of, for a time).

I am sorry to hear this but given FBG’s latest game change, it was inevitable. James, I thought you did an excellent job of adding to the mystique of Fallen London and the breadth of its roleplaying without stepping on FBG’s toes.
I’m terribly sorry that my very first tournament (after missing out on two opportunities through inattentiveness) also had to be my last, but I had a great deal of fun climbing up the ranks of the SRS leaderboard and I’m very proud to close out my association with the society as its final champion, at least based on the current outlook. Many thanks to all of my valiant opponents and especially to James for all his work organizing the group’s activities. May luck side with you in every battle!
