Gonen, that is awful bad luck. I’ll be happy to contribute a few coffees if you’re grinding more. And if it helps, I recently got one more tear of the bazaar and its performance made up for the dismal showing of its predecessors - 13 ToL before evaporating. Keep at it and the odds will even out again.
17/40 failures. That’s a success rate of 57% instead of 80%.
Only 4 more tears. I wonder if I should just give them to the Noman instead keep losing them.

Yes I’m in the same situation where I’m more inclined to grind for more pails rather than tears. Having certainty on how much we’re getting beats gambling especially so close to the end of the season.

But I don’t think I’ll do a sprint to get that one Tear which will give me… disappointment. Perhaps as Navchaa suggested - more pails (cheaper, too). Though with the new favour system, I need to grind that too.
Anyway, frustrating as it is (it is), it’s just a game. No awful bad luck in real life, and that’s important.

I hear ya. I warmed many a tear this last week, and my average was well below the "about every fifth use" evaporation. In all honesty, now that I’m pretty much done raising Noman’s Friend I can safely say that Pails of Snow are definitely better to raise it, compared to Tears. Plus the Pails are much easier and quicker to grind for.
With the rate that the Noman card shows up, using the Monocle twice to get to 6 ToL and then cashing in on the card for 18 NF seems the best method. If you have Tears, they’re a bonus on top of that, but I wouldn’t even bother. edited by idyl on 1/21/2017

Looking at the OP again, do the dates (open of wicket etc) mean to track this year’s or are they a record of last year’s? Currently they are set at 2016. I’m a bit confused.
I’m late to the party, but this is my fourth year of snowman-building and I didn’t want to break the streak just because I’d been managing my time poorly and also not playing FL much this winter. My TtH hits in… er… two-and-a-half to three hours, I think (GMT 15:30 or 16:00, Tuesdays) and I didn’t want to be locked out of the Wicket after it hit. Although I remembered after the fact that that’s not directly tied to TtH, so now I feel like a doofus.
I’m starting with 0 pails because I fed them all to a boar to meet the unlock requirement, and 6 Tears. I am not particularly expecting to set a record here. I do have the tattoo from last year’s noman, however. I might make it to the Feast but I probably won’t get a full month out of Dr Thursnow IV like the previous Thursnows who got crafted in early January.
Fashionably late but… I just got my TtH and decided to build one Snowman. For the larks, if nothing else. Still got more than a dozen pails’n tears left, so that cheapskate approach might actually work to get it into a certain parlour. (I’ve set a burnt offering, in the form of a cinnamon-flavoured tea light, in front of a very lucky harddisk now. Which has an equally lucky d20 on top. If that doesn’t work…
…well I can always sacrifice a salmon, or something.)
The Urchin favors revamp threw a wrench into my plan to buy in at the very last minute. Didn’t manage to grind Renown: Urchins to 10 before they stopped selling snow. That leaves me with just enough pails to maybe buy the Noman at 15 ToL, 6-7 vials of tears, and 8 freshly useless Night Whispers. Might as well not even try.
