The 'good evening' thread: introduce yourself here

Good evening all,[li]

I have just become notable, and am open for dinners, coffee’s and other invites. I am also an author should anyone wish for me to speak at their salon.

Howdy,

I’ve survived the Neath for about a week and a day, a friend pulled me from the Surface and having been rustling jimmies ever since with my alter ego. When not causing a ruckus, I spend most of the time working with food and the rest on one of my many hobbies. I can also be found praying to the gods of Iron at the local gym.

It’s fine calling me after my other persona, Gaspar.

Bonjour! [li]
I’ve stayed in the Neath a few times now, on and off over the past few years - and golly, it’s awfully good, isn’t it? It is with mild embarrassment that I admit that the thought of a forum had not even crossed my mind, and the stats of others have certainly made me reevaluate my (perhaps, I am beginning to realise, excessively) casual gaming style, but I’m glad I finally stumbled on this pseudo-Victorian hub. I hadn’t realised there was such a positive and supportive community linked to the whole Failbetter thingummybob. More fool me, I suppose. Cheers!
May the Glim lie deep on your banks,
Squid.

A pleasant evening to you all.

I go by Tate, sent to New Newgate to atone for my sins. Now I seek the righteous hand of the Lord, in all his justice and mercy. I look forward to proving my worth and seeing justice done.

[I’m Kyle, but you can call me Tate or Lord Tate if you wish. Just got back into FL recently after several previous sojourns into it, and I’m really excited to see all the new content and finally become a person of some importance, as well as look around and possibly get involved with all the stories everyone is cooking up~]

Good evening! Or good morning, as you prefer.[li]

I’ve just discovered Fallen London but am thoroughly captivated so far. My name there is also SarahTheEntwife, but at some point I hope to change it to something a bit more thematic. I’m currently a figure of shadowy and uncertain gender confusedly stumbling about the world trying not to get eaten by anything.

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen… and those other ones.

My name is Goran, and I have been playing (and thoroughly enjoying) Fallen London since the New Year. My username here is made of the names of two of my FL characters, the second one not being realised yet. English is not my mother tongue, so if I say something unclear or just stupid (I hope not!), you will know where to put the blame. In the real life, I am most attracted by things of watchful and then persuasive nature, and that’s why my main character is based upon those qualities.

This is one of the best gaming communities I’ve ever seen, probably because of the literary nature of the game, and I feel very excited to be able to take part in it.

Good evening.

I go by Peregrinate around here, as well as in-game - I hadn’t planned on developing any particular character at first, although I seem to have stumbled backwards into it.

I’ve actually been playing for months now, but have only just made an account here. Really, there was no reason not to, since I’d been checking it recently during any ‘I’m not sure if this is a bug or just a new feature’ moments. So, here I am.

Hello friends!
I’m certainly no stranger to London, however it is currently my first time posting on the forums, despite all the useful information the kind folks on here have given me thus far.

I’ve finally gotten out of bed and created an account here so I can meet Fallen Londoners from all walks of life.
Welcome to the other side, delicious friend.

Hello everyone!

I’m Ariadne Malone - both here and in-game. I’ve been reading the forums for a while but have only just decided to bite the bullet and join the community for myself. I’ve been playing since November and am thoroughly enjoying it so far!

Outside of the game I like reading, sewing, knitting and baking (and Reddit).

Hi!

Hello!

I am Jen, and I play as Lyudmila. I am coming back to the game with a new account after playing a few years ago (I wasn’t able to get into my old account alas, so I am starting over).

I’m looking forward to getting to know the other denizens and sharing secrets!

Good evening,

I’m Laburnum, anserine in-game. Glad to meet everyone.

Hello to all of you wonderful ladies, gentlemen, persons of uncertain gender, persons of undisclosed gender, persons of the rubbery persuasion, and eldritch beings from before the dawn of time. Er. Perhaps not that last bit.

I am William the Marshal. Marshal of what, you ask? Mind your own business, say I! I’ve been in Fallen London since last October (after certain, ahem, difficulties on the surface, entirely unrelated to myself, which nevertheless necessitated a relocation) but have not been fully a member of the community, so to speak, until now. I enjoy playing the cello and having a false sense of superiority. Oh, and apparently unaccountable long-windedness. Dear me. Please feel free to drop by my Lodgings for tea and a chat. (Disclaimer: Must provide your own tea. If I am not present, also must provide your own conversation.)

languidly waves a face-tentacle at you

Well met, fellow Fallen Londoners. As it turns out I have not formally introduced myself yet, though I have been trying to get into contact with a few other players through social actions.

My name is one which feels perhaps inadequate compared to some others. Regardless, I spend most of my time in London practicing the violent arts. Currently, most of my time is taken up finding how to make progress in the Labyrinth of Tigers. I’ve also got myself a moon league token for the game of knife and candle and am debating how I wanted to go about participating in a duel.

One might wonder, why would I have decided to leave the shadows, and join the forums with the other Londoners. The truth is, I’ve always planned to get into contact with others, I just never felt like the opportunity presented itself properly. With me coming a person of some importance, and the desire for making waves present now seemed like the best time possible to meet more acquaintances.

You have a fantastic name.

If we need to elevate a single player to a spot in Fallen London where they can win the game while the rest of us fall, I nominate Battle Potato.

Good evening, not-yet-friends.

Lauren Odee. Charmed.

Relatively new, occasionally shy and wildly unpredictable.

I find my own company in the Neath increasingly tiresome. If anyone wishes to make my acquanitance, do get in touch.

Good evening, delicious sweetmeat Fallen friends!

I played this game a while ago, when the candle was 10 actions high and burned 8 minutes between each, and before there was item crafting, so I think it’s been maybe a couple of years since then. And I got moderately far, strongly favouring the Watchful and Persuasive qualities. I feel that real life circumstances must have interfered, but I also believe ashamedly that I may have abandoned the game in a tantrum after seeing that I had to work on my painfully neglected Dangerous stat to proceed, whilst I had been crafting a decidedly pacifist character.

So now I’ve created a new account, working on all four stats equally - attempting to, at least. I am quite delighted with everything new that’s been added to the game: it is quite a different experience.

I don’t have any friends, so please add and message me if you would care to!
(? Now how would one go about not ending that sentence with a preposition?)

… Oh hello, I did not see you there. A pleasure, I’m sure.

… More wine? Yes, drink up! We still have much to discuss.

… How fortunate to spend this evening in decent company! I tell you, most of the others just wish to lighten my coin purse. More wine?

… Interests? Well, I dabble in the arts, but I make my living from watching others. I see your glass is empty, let me fill that up for you.

… Poor fellow, it seems the wine is not agreeing with you. I’ll make sure you get home safely. Do finish the glass, it would be a waste not to.

… Where was it you lived? Yes, and is there anyone else staying there? To watch over you of course! A complete stranger could rob you blind in the state you’re in!

… No problem at all, it is my pleasure! Please, if you should ever wish to engage in activities of business or pleasure I would be most happy to oblige: http://fallenlondon.storynexus.com/Profile/EpicMarble
