Does anybody know what triggers one of the shops vanishing in New Winchester and if it can be made to reappear?
I’m wondering if it has anything to do with where deliver your port reports and, if so, changing to the other side will eventually make the shop come back.
In my current game Titania is really close to New Winchester and you can buy a certain item for 10 sovereigns less than it sells at one of the shops in New Winchester. So I filled my hold with the stuff (using most of my money) and now I can’t sell it; have very little space for fuel supplies or anything else. It also means the shop that sells stained glass is gone so I can’t repair certain buildings in Titania
i had problems with that shop vanishing too. i came back later and it was there again.
Some have speculated its because of siding with the windward company. I cant say for sure, but i sided with them too and the shop came back. It may possibly have been related to spending windward favor on tons of gossip, whihg might have lowered it down below a required point. IF nothing else, you can try that
failing that, just continue with the hybras questline, and check winchester every time you return ther
Hey folks, with regards to the bug where ports are missing, there are two separate issues here which look very similar. I’d like you all to try something for me to eliminate one of the causes if you experience it…
There is a bug where ports are missing when you arrive at where they are indicated on the map. There’s also a different bug with the UI scaling which causes the chart to become misaligned. You can turn up to where the chart indicates a port is and there is nothing there. On moving further out into Reach, you end up finding the port in question. You can tell if you are being affected by this by opening your chart and looking at where the Regions are. Their boundaries should just touch. They should not overlap or be spread apart.

Something important to note is that when changing the UI scale in-game, the effect on the chart is not seen immediately, but only after you exit and re-enter the game (e.g. quit to Title Screen and then Continue and open the chart again).

Some ideal UI scales are listed below based on resolution:

· 1920 x 1080 ~77%
· 1776 x 1000 ~83%
· 1680 x 1050 ~ 79%
· 1600 x 900 ~92%
· 1280 x 1024 ~81%

I know it sort of defeats the purpose of having the option to scale your UI at the moment but we really recommend making sure those boundary lines just touch, until we get a fix out for this.

Once your chart is properly aligned, if you turn up to a missing port then you know it’s the original issue. This is where we recommend you close the game and relaunch.

As a word of warning, as we have yet to work on the the way the world generates beyond the Reach, going out of it and re-entering can cause issues. We think this is linked to a bug where save files can become corrupt. This is another reason we recommend you make sure those Region boundaries do not overlap, as you can end up encroaching into other Regions whilst still being within the Reach is that makes sense.
I’ve had a quick look and it seems the best it can be at smaller resolutions is 100%. If you’re able to, use the 1360 x 768 resolution and set the UI scale to 100%, there is overlap but it’s not huge. It will mean however that as you go into the outer circle of the Reach you’ll encounter the ports slightly before it says you should on the map.

Apologies for the inconvenience. We will get this one fixed ASAP. It’s definitely one of our priorities.
How can a player acquire unlicensed charts? I’ve heard from several places that ferrying the devil away from Carillon provides them. I chose that option, and did not get any charts. Do I need to take the devil passenger somewhere?

Hey there. You should not need to take the devil anywhere else. Simply selecting the option you did should have awarded you with two unlicensed charts. I’ll look into this now. One of the other options should also award unlicensed charts, and I’ve listed the other methods currently available in the game below:

They can be obtained in the following ways in the current build (1.0.1.5.91c3278)

* A rare drop from a Cache of Curiosities
* At Traitors Wood if you "Spend time with the Dismal Paleographer’s students"
* At Carillon two of the options on the "Blackmail the Spirifer" will award 2 unlicensed charts. They are: "Offer to take the Spirifer somewhere else" and "Blackmail the Spirifer and keep his secret"

Hey Casidy2, unlike the Nectar, the hairs are not an actually item that sits in your cargo.
If you are helping the magician and have been instructed to collect hairs of a Chorister Bee by the Carpenter, then once you loot A Chorister-Corpse there should be an option to "Shave the bee"
After doing this, you’ll be able to return to Port Avon to speak to the Carpenter and progress from there.
A word of warning: there’s a bug in the current build where taking the repaired items to the magician sets your Sovereigns to 100, rather than adding 100 to your total, so beware when you hand this in!
