It’s actually 15 actions to raise Inspired to 24 via the "Composition: the High Path" (+20 CP per action for a total of 300 CP at Inspired 24).
Therefore it’s 17 actions per Ballet (18 if you count action to get into Court).

Gah, not sure how I made that error. I also didn’t take into account the ~10% chance of a rare success on Composition: the High Path. Factoring both of those in, 100 ballets results in 3280.50 echoes for 2020.71 actions (ignoring zailing), for 1.623 EPA, worse than AotB.
So, this only make sense for folks pursuing Poet Laureate. Far less interesting, but it does mean that the Poet Laureate grind by this route is relatively cheap, albeit time-consuming. By the time you’re done with the 145 ballets you need to achieve Poet Laureate, you only have ~50 fewer echoes than if you had spent those ~3000 actions doing AotB. Subtract from that the ~975 echoes of honey you invested in the effort, and a Poet Laureateship costs a little over 1000 echoes. Not a huge investment, by endgame standards.

What’s your math/data for the Bohemian card’s Blemmigan option? I play it from time to time, but other than the 50% chance for a Favour and the randomly given reward I’ve not been keeping track of everything it gives.
Edit:
I’ve drawn the card again and tried it to remind myself. Besides the 50% chance for a Favour, it gives some random amount of Romantic Notions and Memories of Distant Shores. How does this help you gain Drops of Honey for the grind you’ve described?

It doesn’t gain honey directly. It gives you a Bohemians Favour in an action that is already profitable (i.e., worth more than AotB) even ignoring the Bohemians Favour. Then you can cash in the Favour for honey at the Shuttered Palace. If you gained the Favour from an action that was worth less than AotB, I would have to factor the opportunity cost of that action into my calculations. Since this action is worth more than AotB, there’s no opportunity cost; you’re going to click it no matter what (assuming you’re on an echo grind). The only cost is the action required to turn the Favour into honey, and then the cost of the spent honey itself. I included those costs in my calculations.
As for the question about how much the Blemmigan action is worth by itself, it’s hard to calculate, since your Persuasive level has some effect on the outcome, but the outcome is still relatively random. I just played it myself, and I received 3.90e worth of items (Persuasive 274), not including a Bohemian Favour (which I didn’t get this time).
EDIT: I played it again, this time for 3.20e worth of items plus a Favour, for a total value of at least 7.40e. Of course, you need to use an action to turn the Favour into goods you can sell.

You guys had me buy the Blemmigan affair and I must say I loved it. Onwards, to more masterpieces!
this may be old news and discussion closed, but, as far as text changing and all that, I’d say the ultimate lesson is, become an austere master of your temptations by turning amber into goo, and you’ll never have to worry about the possible moral implications of your behavior. EVERYONE, JOIN THE LEAGUE OF AUSTERITY AND FIGHT BACK AGAINST POTENTIALLY ABUSIVE AND HARMFUL INDUlGENCE. WE HAVE AMBER FOR EVERYONE. plus we can get high from organ music, so we still have as much fun

Is getting to 20 laurate impossible without overcapping stats? I’ve never been interested in overcapping and I’d rather skip it if at all possible.
No. You can get up to Persuasive 300 with just gear (i.e. no overcapping), and you "only" need Persuasive 290 to become A Poet-Laureate.
(obviously, if you can overcap, it will help).
FYI - Persuasive is the only stat in which the max possible bonus is the same with and without Fate.

Well I see that I’m going to need either the renown 40 church item and a new spouse, or just the renown 40 society item. Probably just easier to temporarily overcap 10 levels i guess, but then I’d have to pick a specialization…

Thankfully you can change specializations now. Although dropping a specialization takes 12 Notability… (or 15 Fate).
It’s a little confusing trawling through all the posts in this thread, but can anyone clarify how I can get my Persuasive up to 290 without changing specialization, spouse or depending on mood cards.
I don’t think you can, unfortunately. By my count the highest boost you can get with all the best in slot Persuasive gear (including a Salon, the Parthenaeum, certain spouses, and Renown 40 items), but without a Mood, is only +80. Either way, Poets-Laureate have to overcap or wait for a Mood to show up.
Presumably this is with a destiny though? As we are out of the destiny changing season (and doing so involves Fate anyway), I think destiny needs to be treated as the overcap or a mood - a very long term commitment that requires compromises in other areas if you don’t have it
If needs be you can get more than one level of PL with one mood card, if you are savvy enough to collect enough Fine Piece.

I’ve had a Mood card I’ve kept from using for a while now. Guess I should keep it that way for now. Currently, with all the gear I have, I’m at 255 Persuasive. Since I don’t intend to change specialization or destiny for this, even with a Renown 40 item though, I don’t think I’ll get to 280, let alone 290.
Oh well. It’s rather fitting that Poet-Laureate would go to those who specialize in Persuasive.
This is the only high-end achievement that isn’t restricted on Destiny, affiliation, profession. But missing any of those requires some extra effort on your behalf plus a Mood card.
Hat Mood +30
Clothing +10
Gloves +8
Weapon +10
Boots +5
Companion: +10
Affiliation +1 (Membership of God’s Editors)
Transport +8 (Soc L40 item)
Home Comfort +8 (Church L40 item)
These is the lowest high point any player can achieve if there aren’t any RP restriction! Thing is, they sum up exactly +90.
Alright, that’s a super helpful breakdown. I already have most of these. In fact, as a Correspondent, my Pot of Violant Ink gives me +12 Persuasive.
Time to grind Society and Church Favours then.
well, I got poet laureate, a bit anticlimactic after all that
Not having an item attached at the end of the grind was, in my opinion, a blunder.
Like many other useless grinds! :)
But it does bring a joy, doesn’t it? :)
