Uh yeah I probably should put a cap on those, actually.
Anyway! The problem with removing or merging cards from the God Deck is that there’s… not actually that many cards in there to start with. If you start ripping out or mashing cards together then you sort of end up with about five cards total. Which is kind of a waste of a card deck! And some of that stuff is sort of too potent to just leave as a pinned card (i mean i know there’s next to no semblance of balance anyway but cmon there’s a limit even to that)
All the cards are actually just at Standard rarity at the minute, but i’ll see about maybe making less useful ones appear a bit less often
You WILL lose it but there is a very efficient method to grind it wehn you are a god. Also you get fancy brews for free when you are wearing yer cooking hat
Fanciness and circuitry are some of the things which do carry over onto subsequent ascensions. So you don’t need to worry about that.
at least, i think i made fanciness persistent. It, er, should be. The boxed marked "Persistent" is most definitely checked, now that it actually loaded.
For reference, Giles’ fanciness is like 20 * (1 + (0.2 * [q:Golden Rat]), so in other words he gets 0.2 times fancier for every Golden Rat you have. If you have a lot of golden rats, then, uh, he’s going to be really fancy. edited by Spacemarine9 on 8/1/2013
Huh. Weird. 77CP of fanciness would put you at about 11 levels of fanciness, though… maybe persistent qualities are turning levels into changepoints for some reason?
Yikes, okay, I guess something’s broke Storynexus-wise then. I think I can put a temporary fix in for that, though. I’ll send a bugreport so hopefully it’ll get unbroke soon. edited by Spacemarine9 on 8/1/2013
You might want to check out rolling for fanciness as it appears to give you CP as opposed to whole levels( as in with my 77 fanciness i get 1-77cp from rolling not 1-77 levels)
Golf is ridiculously easy if you are a god. I can’t quite tell how intentional this is, so it might be a bug. As it is now, you can take the “Skip Playing” stoylet repeatedly, and get as much score as you could possibly want.
Well, most things are supposed to be ridiculously easy as a god, but i forgot to set a requirement so you couldn’t play the Skip Playing thing repeatedly. whoops! thanks for a bug report
You foul fiend and your horrible ways! I hate you, your game and everything you stand for!
Now I must quit this game. Upon logging in i was shocked and appalled at finding myself able to spend nex to buy all my hard-earned items! at absurdly horrible rates no less! this is the worst thing I ever saw in my life. Now I will have to travel to Spacemarine9’s house and strangle him and then take my own life as this is the only way to clean this abomination of its sin!
The above may or may not be my actual point of view. Consider setting rats and rat points to 50 or 100 million to not look like a jerkwad. edited by Dmitri Zhiriakov on 8/2/2013
I did actually just unleash that from its hiding place for a little while so I could ask some friends whether or not all that dumb stuff was reasonable or not
of course then they ended up buying a thing so i think my soul is now forfeit to failbetter games, forever. plus there’s like 14p sitting in cold storage now, to be sent out whenever the world reaches £50 in revenue (i.e. literally never)
i think i might adjust the numbers on those, though. i have absolutely no idea what the rate of conversion is between rats and real money.

bug marked as resolved, due to circumstances surrounding "dumb impulse i had at 2am". whether this bugfix will break things (i.e. my spine as a lawyer shoots me) remains to be seen edited by Spacemarine9 on 8/2/2013
Some feedback- you have clearly lost your goal. At the start the game was very very clearly focused on one thing. SENDING RATS. YOU KNOW THE THING IN THE NAME?
yet now, it seems like the best way to play is to NOT send them and just sit on giant piles of rats. Can you consider rectifying that? making a game where progress requires you to give away your staff is a bloody brilliant idea and seeing it go to waste is sad sad sad
Also consider adding something for someone who has 999999999 of all kind of rats at once. (not including billion rats because >_>) edited by Dmitri Zhiriakov on 8/3/2013
No, you’re right about that, I’ve just been procrastinating like crazy on making new social acts because, uh, it’s far from the quickest task. (namely because you can’t clone similar social actions or anything and have to create each one from scratch)
You should probably keep in mind that you’re kind of at the very end of the game’s content + most of that stuff is designed to be more self-propelling overpowered gubbins anyway (namely because if i try and add stuff involving higher numbers storynexus breaks, falls over and cries)
there are more social acts + an area that’s pretty much just "give stuff away to other people" coming up… um, maybe on monday or later. i’ve been adding stuff pretty much every day for the past three weeks now i do kind of need a break from making storylets now and then :V edited by Spacemarine9 on 8/3/2013
Yeah but imagine the possibilities!
Take for example golf- not it’s just 6 holes at 100% and one at 50.
You could make it have options like that:
luck check
circuitry check(capped at 80%)
rat king option.
send 100 000*number of hole(except 7) to get 80% chance at passing
send 200 000*hole number royal rats for 100% check
send 200 000*hole holy rats and get 50% chance of extra score.
Recepient gets half the rats sent.
Now you don’t need to be a god or a king to use any of those options-other players will give you rats when playing that you can use on playing yourself!
Same thing could be applied to may zones-for gold you can make the last check to pass through the wall require you to send gold, and sending gold could give you large ammount of rat points. Essentialy all solo options would be inferior to social ones. Then we would have some cool socialism in this game(pun intended).
i have actually been meaning to go back later to the more singleplayer zones (i.e. gold, golf and rat storage) to make them a bit less singleplayer (after all it is supposed to be the #1 MULTIPLAYER EXTRAVAGANZA VIDEO GAME OF THE CENTURY or something), i just haven’t really had that many ideas on how to do so yet. that’s not a half bad idea, but luck checks and social actions don’t really play well together (the social action only gets sent out only on success, if you fail then it doesn’t), but i might be able to use some version of that edited by Spacemarine9 on 8/3/2013
