Protégés Seeking Patrons (Only protégés need post)

I am recently returned to Fallen London and I am looking for a master to teach me the arts of combat (and help me with my Dangerous quality). My unmodified stats are:

Watchful 27
Shadowy 24
Dangerous 51
Persuasive 31

I’m looking for somebody who might be able to help me learn to be more watchful or shadowy. Here are my unmodified statistics:

Watchful 63
Shadowy 33
Dangerous 40
Persuasive 46

Greetings! I’m very new, unfortunately, but would love a patron. An invisible eminence would be excellent, but I wouldn’t mind a patron for any of the four skills!
Watchful: 39
Shadowy: 17
Dangerous: 13
Persuasive: 17

Mesdames, messieurs,

Je suis ravi de faire votre connaissance. I hail from the Surface nation of France and, how do you put it in your native tongue, am I a Connoisseur of Delights. I was drawn to the Neath by numerous stories of unwordly temptations, dark mysteries and the promises of the Unknown. Thus, I seem to be in need to request the assistance of someone a bit more experienced in life down under, to take a stab at my naïvité and shed the upper layers of my surface inhibitions.

As it stands, and I am sure it will for some time, I may congratulate myself upon obtaining the following aptitudes:

Watchful:56
Shadowy:25
Dangerous:41
Persuasive: 85

I am keen to work with an Extraodrinary Mind or better, a person known for his/hers Legendary Charisma.

As always, I remain at your bidding if need be. Do not hesitate to contact me with other inquiries as well, who knows, I might be able to help.

Internship badly needed. Looking for tutelage from a shattering force. Wouldn’t mind if he or she is a horrible boss. Grinding wearing me thin but really looking forward to look lean. No previous job experience, hard worker, maybe once committed a murder, shouldn’t be that much of a hassle, unless someone solves the puzzle, evidence went down the gutter and the days are becoming darker.

edit: Alas I have given up looking for one, it might be a better idea for me to avoid them as well…

Salutations, gentlefolk of Fallen London. As I’m sure you can guess by my response to this thread and my quite unimpressive post count, I am a newcomer to the Neath, and looking for a patron. One of Legendary Charisma would be most appreciated, but I am at the moment a Jack-of-all-trades, so a master of any skill would be welcome. My base skills are as follows:

Watchful:42
Shadowy:44
Dangerous:43
Persuasive:46

A master of shadows would be most preferred.
I will be sure to repay you in any way I can manage.

I would guess that not many of you are aware of the fact that prison ships exist, out on the zee? Having spent a literally immeasurable stretch of time in one of these monstrous vessels, locked into a cell below the waterline, where darkness acquires new meaning, even for the Neath, I am in desperate need for tutelage and assistance in any of the following, still very weak qualities:[li]

Watchful: 24 [Spoken for! Thank you Zantumal!]
Shadowy: 22
Dangerous: 35
Persuasive: 36

I would be grateful for any invitation by a perfected lady, or Sir who would help me to regain my former experience and force…

As I grow ever more intimate with the ways and citizens of the Neath, I find it necessary to enlist a master who can aid me in any manner possible. My unmodified stats are:

Watchful: 39
Shadowy: 27
Dangerous: 33
Persuasive: 49

My residence is a small house by the observatory in a neighborhood of some ill repute. You can leave a card with a short message at:

Greetings. I am in a spot of trouble and find myself in need of patrons to improve my skills in fighting, sneaking and persuading so as to persuade people to not fight or sneak up on me! Meet me in a shadowy alleyway. Bring nothing but your amazing knowledge. I will provide cake once I have caught it.

Regards,

Jonquil Mc’Pogington

My father was an accomplished zee-captain who sailed the sunless, black Unterzee. But, zeefaring life is not for me. I prefer the mystery and intrigue of our fallen city. After my father’s death I knew I had to do whatever it took to survive… And I am becoming quite a Dangerous man, but I need assistance and mentorship to become a force not to be trifled with.

Watchful - 19
Shadowy - 14
Dangerous - 40
Persuasive - 20

My ideal mentor would be one who can teach me the art of Danger, of pain and inflicting it. But, I am not in a position to pick and choose my friends in this dark and lonesome place.

Thank you, potential benefactors, for your time.

I guess to start with my name is MyKael. I am a rather seductive gentleman( persuasion at 104 unbuffed) I am fairly observant as well (84 watchful unbuffed) and wouldn’t mind learning a bit of watchfulness. However I am on the other hand most definitely in need of both Shadowy(54) and Dangerous(49) training. In an attempt to become a more Dangerous fellow I have taken on the Jo as a tough
A riddle, I have 2 coins that add up to 15 cents and one of them is not a nickle.
MyKael is lustful, ambitious, and loves to explore whether that involves fulfilling his lust or entering the dungeon of the palace he doesn’t mind. He also loves political games, and power and knowledge. The Correspondence is something MyKael wants to unravel and understand very greatly.

Greetings fellow denizens of the Neath. I have a certain appreciation for those skilled in traversing the Flit, as well as those whom have a keen eye, and have come seeking the tutelage of An Invisible Eminence or An Extraordinary Mind. I do so look forward to future correspondence.

A couple really simple riddles:

 1. At night, they come without being fetched. By day, they are lost without having been stolen. What are they?

 2. Brothers and sisters? I have none, but that man’s father is my father’s son. Who are they?

(Sorry if my post is to long, there is a TLDR lower in the post)

Salutations all of you, whatever your preferred pronoun may be.

My name is Arc of Lyte, thou most refer to me as Arcalyte. I am in need of assistance.

See, i somewhat recently arrived here and in the course of my business dealings and friendly interactions with the charming Devils of the Brass Embassy, i have become quite scrutinized by the public, to the point where i, to my shame must admit i already had to flee to the Tomb Colonies for a time to let the situation calm down.

After my return I came to the conclusion i need to learn the art of discretion, and possibly to defend myself, two areas of expertise i am quite unfamiliar with.

[Watchful] 73+10

[Dangerous] 19
[Persuasive] 35+8

(TLDR: Verry new player, not sure about the rules and limitations of the patron system. Assuming you can have one in each category at the same time i would love one of each. If that is not possible i would be in most need of Shadowy and Dangerous at the moment.)

Oh, and there was a request for riddles. I have two, thou i am not sure they are the kind you are looking for.

Riddle 1.
Two fathers and two sons go out hunting.
They each get a kill and return home with a total catch of three animals.
How can this be?

Riddle 2.
A boy and his father is riding a Stagecoach through the city, when a horrible incident involving a revolutionary´s bombs blows their transportation up, kills the father and injures the son.
When the son is taken to the doctor for his injuries, the doctor immediately stops in shock and utters: &quotThis is my Son&quot.
How can this be?

Good day, friends and neighbours!

Ah, zee most fah-bu-loos Octavia Crowe, am looking for a Shattering Force looking for a protege! I have a Dangerous of 58 that I’m looking to improve.

If any Shattering Force is interested in providing patronage, I would be most fulsomely grateful!

Quite simple, really. Although, ambiguity of wording allows for a few logical variations. The answer that adheres the most stringently to your wording would be as follows:

Three hunters each kill a single animal.
The fourth hunter kills one of the other three hunters (I t’oughts they was an L.B., honest guv!).
The three remaining hunters return with the three animal corpses. [4 kills; 3 animals]

A bit morbid, but precious little isn’t in this city, no? ;)

Im sorry, i should have worded the riddle more clearly. Given what i did say your answer would be correct, but what i should have said is they each kill one of whatever animal they hunted, no person was killed.

In that case, it’s a grandfather, his son, and his grandson, yes? Two of this set are sons of another party in the group, while two are fathers thereof (w/the middle-generation fellow falling into both categories).

That is also a logically consistent conclusion, and probably in line with the intended answer. Good show!
