Running into the same sort of thing. I can only seem to load my profile page from within the game (I’m playing on desktop). If I try to use an old bookmark to my page, it won’t load. Even though it ends up using the same URL as the Myself>View Profile button does when it opens in a new tab.
Edit: I think I found the issue, but it brings up another. I have my profile set to private. If its checked I cannot load my profile page from an external link. Uncheck it and my old bookmark loads just fine. The reason I had it set to private was because, and correct me if I’m wrong, it would prevent me from showing up under the “Suggest a contact” option on social actions. It would still let myself and others view my profile if I provided a link to either the main profile page or a specific profile post.
‘A Solonacean Gallery’ will now discard itself if the Hour in the Library requirement is not met.,
It is no longer possible to spend your Trade Secrets to increase a stat that is at your current stat cap.*
(Missing from last week’s notes, with apologies!:) The ‘Private profile’ checkbox on Myself tab now fully removes the ability of others to view your profile page.
I find that a rather unfortunate change. I only activated “Private Profile” to not appear as a suggested contact for social actions.
Would it be possible to separate these two functions?
Just to set the record straight a bit here – when we were doing a deep-dive on the Journal in order to implement some of these improvements, we looked at the ‘Private Profile’ tickbox and found that it was doing literally nothing (it did not touch the ‘Suggest a Contact’ feature, and has not for a long time, if it ever did).
Obviously this was suboptimal, hence it being tweaked in the updates! But if any functionality vis-a-vis the contact-suggestion feature has been lost, it was lost a long time ago, rather than as a result of recent updates.
So while it’s not functionality we can simply/easily restore, given this feedback, we’ll certainly consider adding a feature to hide an account from ‘Suggest a Contact’ in future!
Thank you for clearing that up! I’ll untick “Private Profile” then, since it apparently didn’t do what I wanted it to in the past and now does something I don’t want it to do!
Agents can now be filtered by their speciality on the Agents tab.
Balance updates to two Agents plots:
The Dreams of London
Reduced the magnitude of the payouts on the Making Waves branch
A Disposable Network
The Boon and Menace reduction options no longer trigger on plot completion; these can be activated at a later time via an item.
The Boon reward now clears after approximately three days, via living story; players who currently have the Boon will retain it until Time, the Healer comes.
Added new, ‘cheese sandwich’ option for those with an superabundance of Second Chances.
New Equip Highest functionality
Players can speedily equip the items with the highest bonus they possess for many skills, including Highway stats, Advanced Skills, BDR, and Neathy Defences.
The names of the default outfits for new characters have changed slightly, to include the word ‘Outfit’ (e.g. ‘Incognito’ → ‘Incognito Outfit’). Existing characters are unaffected.
Transactions on the Bazaar tab can now be done in batches of up to 999,999.
Players may now create up to 25 tags for categorising their journals.
The bone labyrinth in the Sous now offers a little extra value to partially offset action costs.
One bit of great news after another in the past few updates
I love the new journal functionality, although it seems I might be hitting the cap myself in the foreseeable future. Was it stated anywhere what the actual page limit was? I can’t find anything…
And both the “Equip highest” button and the ability to buy and sell items 999,999 at a time are great and long wished-for quality of life improvements!
Thanks!
Sitting at 2940 pages already, I’ll need to start considering what to prune rather soon then, considering the trend of past few years.
Still a great improvement though
Keep the storylet navigation improvements coming!!! This is a huge pain-point for me with many regular activities.
I hope especially the London map will one day get updated to include places like Bone Market or Rat Market or University Laboratory. It feels ridiculous to me we have to do so many extra clicks every day just to get in there (and in Lab and Ratket’s case, also out of there). While SUPER-early-game things like Heists just sit there on the map forever, as if to eternally mock us.
Same thing with Zee-Map. E.g. there’s no reason for me to do the clicks through “captain’s cabin → change course” storylets, when it could be done like on the Roof: click “Map”, click on the chosen place, click to confirm changing direction and losing progress.
The ‘Eel-and-Marmalade’ and ‘Extra-Strong Cheddar’ options in the Disposable Network plot now correctly affect Tremors Upon the Web and other general Agent qualities.
In the card ‘Bandages and Dust: The Tomb-Colonies’ , the branch A night on the town has been moved to the top to bring it in line with other cards of this type.
Fixed a bug in which it was possible to send out too many Agents on assignment.
