That’s what I get for not looking up the taxonomy first…
The wasp thing still stands though!
Actually, insect skeletons can already have up to four wings in addition to the six legs, so that is taken care of as well
EDIT: after diptych’s comment, I realized for the first time that you meant the lack of stinger-tail on an insect, not a lack of wings. Your point stands!
Put the jet-black stinger on an insect skeleton, then use a knife to remove the length of the tail between the torso and the stinger. Boom - stinging insect.

Week Ending 1st November
- Fixed an issue with Burdens’ menace enhancements not working correctly.
Week Ending 15th November
- Fixed an issue where some users were unable to start or renew their subscription.
Week Ending 22nd November
- Added empty slot icons to the Possessions UI.
How about one for the Boon/Burden slot?
Wouldn’t it never be visible? Those slots vanish from the UI if they’re not filled, so you can never see them empty, at least as far as I know.
Yep, same reason there’s no empty slot icon for spouse or club. Only un-equippable slots get the treatment.
Week Ending 13th December
- Adjusted how the cutoff (the algorithm that shortens storylet text down to a preview) works.
- Fixed HTML formatting in quality names across the Myself, Possessions and Profile pages.
- Adjusted the ‘An unexpected visitor’ branches on ‘SNOWBOUND’ prevent exploitable behaviour.
I no longer have to explain HTML to the Last Duchess. She was having none of it.
Week Ending 3rd January
- Firmament:
- The prologue of Firmament now correctly requires having built a station at Ealing Gardens.
- Cards are now correctly cleared from the hand after the first foray into the Stacks.
- It is now possible to initiate a divorce against players who have left the game.
Nothing new from this week, but I was out last week and so neglected to post the previous batch!
Week Ending 10th January
- A storylet at Ladybones Road can provide the route to Moloch Street for older accounts that are in a stuck state with the Honey-Addled Detective case.
- Restored login screen portraits that were previously removed in 2019:
- A Master of the Bazaar
- Mrs Plenty
- November (from ‘A Little Pandemonium’)
- The Entomological Astrologer (from ‘Written in the Glim’)
- The Haunted Magician (from ‘The Magician’s Dream’)
- The Perspicacious Surveyor (from ‘The Bones of London’)
- Added new login screen portraits:
- The Deputy Head (from ‘Dernier Cri’)
- Madam X (from ‘SALON SCANDAL!’)
- The Starved Mystic (from ‘A Nest in the Eaves’)
So, for the last month, nothing?
The latest update is the Feast of the Exceptional Rose, so it goes in its own thread!
Week Ending 31st January
- Inflationary adjustment to Fate prices.
Week Ending 14th February
- City in Silver: The card ‘The Flow of Commerce’ now requires 6250 Prosperity to be drawn, matching the requirement on the branches in the card itself.
I don’t understand the reasoning. Most of the options on that card earn prosperity, so why gate it to how much you might spend? I usually overhear a story on it, rarely do I grab the ballad, as I’m grinding scrip.
Week Ending 28th February
- Minor tweaks and flow improvements to the Starved War in the Waswood
