Mr Eaten Content

This is not entirely true, for you see, I still have Arthur’s candle. And my chains. Rat of glory ate my destin and beau. And I Lost my stains to flint for a laugh. Now it will cost me dearly to get them back haha but I couldn’t be happier :-)

Edit: Still no signs of Forthigan’s betrayl on the rat of glory. That will be a laugh next time that shows up again haha.

Well I mean, if I say St. Arthur’s Candle is literally the only candle you have now then I’m actually correct.

I haven’t seen any social stuff related to Seeking yet, but if there’s any it’s probably hiding behind the St. Arthur’s Candle branch at 21SMEN.

building smen is so expensive please help and/or kill me
Burning the candle consumes the candle and Surmise, giving Veils-Velvet, an Impossible Theorem, and Master’s Blood. Those can be burned for SMEN +2, with seemingly a 50% chance of consuming them and giving a Dreadful Surmise. So apparently if it comes to it you can burn a goat for two more levels of SMEN?

The text for burning St Cerise’s is the exact reverse of the text for lighting the taper which consumes the three items and gives a Surmise.
That is not quite true. One of them talks about going north where the White waits and the Gate sails, and the other mentions going north to the inks the undernight.

The text for burning St Cerise’s is the reverse of the text mentioning the White and the Gate. The result with the other text didn’t actually consume the three 1500 echo items, apparently. Unknown whether or not that’s a bug.
Just got the Old Sins card in the Nadir, and I only see the non-Seeking option for &quotLook into the Water&quot

Possibly the Seeking version of this option was retired.
The option is available. On my journal.
Gives 2 Irrigo and SMEN (capped at 3, don’t get excited here)

I wonder how many of the capped options are intentionally so and how many of the caps remain from the original Seeking.

Speaking of caps, does anyone know if there’s a cap for gaining SMEN via Marsh-Mired? I’m not even certain HOW you can boost it with that, but I’ve heard of it from others.

Interesting. Possibly they are still tweaking it around then.

I might be mad, but I want spouse options to support a seeking spouse.

St.Cyriac’s has opened!
edit Now if you excuse me, I’m going to finally unlock the Nadir. Clearly it will be important, based on the requirement for Fluke Cores and such…Good thing I still have my Magnificent Feast.
Further Edit Oh my…it requires you to not have Mr.Eaten’s Calling card-they changed it, even though I only looked a short while ago.
even further edit It also requires Seeking at 29. A few hours ago, it only needed Seeking 7 and the Enigmas. Gonna be a while until I can try.

Can’t help but to notice Mr. Eaten called my name the other day. Gulp!

As your name is one in the same with a candle, you are contractually obligated to take Seeking far enough to AT LEAST get that candle. Well, go on. I’ll try to do the same, though as I’m sure as it is with you, it will be hard to advance that far.

minimum stockpile, assuming 0% failure rate: 24255 appalling secrets. A &quotmere&quot 3638.25 echoes in the best-case scenario, which likely requires absurd luck.

I know that my verbose statement about them being contractually obligated to get Saint Beau’s Candle seemed serious, but I feel the need it to tell you it was meant partly as a joke. I’ll try to be more clear next time, and funny too.

Still thought the numbers were relevant, but okay. It was funny, since i assumed it was the jokey kind of joking-not-joking. You know, like how some people give rants like this: &quotif they play that stupid song one more time i will rewire the sound systems so they can only produce screeches, because that’s more musical.&quot

I just tried the &quotIndulge your hunger&quot option at Mahogany Hall and it doesn’t look like that option increases SMEN any more.
Worth a shot.

It did worth a shot. Thank you for that

Goodness, I hadn’t been on the forums in a while and missed the exciting return of SMEN! I’ve been at 8 since the hiatus, with Arthur and Beau’s candles. I guess I need to start farming searing enigmas and get rid of all my sudden insights?

Appalling secrets are cheaper, even with the higher difficulty!
