Turn back, all of you, do it before tears start to fall along with your flesh.
So beautiful, so red, many of seekers
Yes it’s back, in all of its… Glory let’s call it at. It’s only been out for what, less than a day now and I’ve already managed to lose all my connections of masters of the bazaar. I will be seeking on my alt account which is currently much older than my main. I’ll also possibly be lurking less from now on.
The new item is called "a bad end" and lets you exit seeking the name whenever you’d like. But it sounds like if you use it, you can never seek the name again.

And I’ve just reduced my watchful from 200 to 4, for one measly level of Seeking.
I just had SOTC cut from 21 to 10. I didn’t even have a 100% chance at the SoTC challenge with 21.
Time the Healer came - Your ‘Marsh-Mired in Dreams of Sustenance’ Quality has gone! I hope that there will be some way to get this back again.
I took a look at the “a bad end” option yesterday and you couldn’t back out of it. Fortunately I remembered that using an item conversion over-rode any story.

One of the options is now "don’t use this item. Continue seeking the name."
I was able to gain a level of the stat lady ceil mentioned by eating the Mr. Irons warning to stop seeking
As far as I’ve managed to puzzle out, you can get Seeking by playing the Marsh-Mired-locked option on the cards unlocked with Unaccountably Peckish. That gives you Marsh-Mired, so you can’t play them again, and then those cards seem to be strictly negative. If you’ve got 2 Seeking you can spend lots of resources to get more Seeking at your lodgings. I don’t know how Scars/Stains/Chains/Candles fit into all this, and I don’t know how you’re supposed to get more than 1 level of Seeking. There’s an option here which requires a St. Cerise’s Candle and Seeking 28; with how much the Seeking Road options cost, that’s like three Overgoats worth of stuff, assuming the costs don’t scale. But I’m fairly sure the costs scale, so it’s likely to work out to be somewhere more like three Heptagoats.
I suspect something’s missing; either content-wise or from my own understanding. We wouldn’t be Seekers if we didn’t just boldly charge headfirst into danger, sanity-be-damned, though.
That’s defanged?
Nnnnnnice!
Which level did you rise to? I think it probably scales with SMEN level.
From seven to 8. To be fair though, I blackened my mind six times, each time halfing my watchful and succeeding only at the first attempt.
Your soul begged you to sell it, your skin begged you to die, your mind is gone by now, it’s too late for all of you now.
I don’t check FL for one day and all this stuff comes back.
I’m not sure I am ready to become a seeker, but thge RNG seems to think I am. In one draw I received: the Knave of Regrets, the Knight of Feasts, and the Two of Bats. Which require UP 8, 9, and 2 respectively. All are tied to this.
This probably has to do with the fact that my Unaccountably Peckish is 10.

Is there a way to stop Seeking at SMEN 1 - Flirting with Disaster? I don’t have a Bad End in my inventory.
EDIT: Found the answer. Anyone suffering from the same problem: wait for Alphabet of Scars opportunity card.

and there’s an option now that requires Enigma 7!
also, can anyone tell me what the Seeking x 1 quality is named?
“Voice.”

Costs on the Seeking Road definitely scale. Requirements before and after going from SMEN 8 to 10: Charring went from 56 to 70 Enigmas, Drowning went from from 616 Appalling Secrets to 770, the Setting fires Mourning Candle cost likewise, Perverting your studies went from SoTC 64 to 100.
If you’re still a lower-level Seeker it definitely pays to pick your branches.
