Magistracy of Evenlode

What I wanted was a button that would auto-select the best gear that I had without me having to pause to figure out what that was.
Let’s compile all that is to do in Evenlode? I think I’m missing something.

  1. Spur train line - lets dig some stuff.
  2. Statue - as usual.
  3. Cornelius storyline - grind Investigation through cards, 3 times.
3.1 Furnace talk - at London, new option after Cornelius.
  4. Clay Highwayman - from card. Investigate with progress or medium Constables and/or Criminal renown items. Cp based, up to 5.
  5. Magistracy - click all options to unlock everything.
5.1 Get Dispensations at barracks for favours.
5.2 Reduce your criminal record with dispensations at court.
  6. New constable - choices affect only flavor text. requires Times at Evenlode, 3 times ever increasing. Last time is in the barracks.
  7. Diving bell - after new constable, area improvement.
7.1 At bottom floor is Light-in-Exile. Can talk several times.
7.2 Talk to Commisiioner in nightmares after that, unlocks another option here.

I’m done with the new constable, improved the area once (thrice counting the addition railroad built and the divine bell itself), and talked to the Commissioner in nightmares. Is the bottom floor the second one or further below, or do i just have to rack up more Pelligin exposure? Can’t seem to meet this Light Yet

It’s six levels down.

And the bell must be fully upgraded to reach that.

Oh right, completely missed that you can upgrade the bell. Many thanks!
That would mean that the player character needs to have gone quite far in the content. That’s a lot to lose in a soft reset.
Isn’t that rather the point? I thought so, anyway.

And some prefer both have a cake and eat it, right.
Final end was advertised as an epic ending for an epic character, not a reroll for a wimpy fodder.
Went to bed shortly after you posted, but here’s another imgur link that hopefully works.

Thanks. I am using those screenshots now.
UPDATE: Ah… ~hm~. I would like to know your Dangerous level when you took that screenshot. I am putting in a tentative number for now; I assume that you might have maxed out Dangerous of over 260, which is typical for a high-end character.

That’ll be Dangerous 279

Edit: Almost forgot, while I don’t think this is kosher for the wiki for those who are interested: If you’ve extracted a certain Broken Word from Mr. Wines in an old ES using a game of cricket, you can do this to escape the Bazaar’s Creditor’s former throneroom.

Thanks. I corrected the difficulty rating.

Someone already added it.

By the way, if you guys have been accumulating Expertise of the First City from the options at the Magistracy, be forewarned: the next lab experiment that you complete will wipe it out.

No new lab experiments by the way.

Can you do anything useful with that expertise? Or is it just hanging out for now, meaning you just can’t do any lab experiments until FBG puts out new content to use it?

It seems to just be another type of Research. Expertises of the Second and Third Cities are already (extremely niche) research types, so this isn’t entirely surprising.

It does make one wonder, though.

With Traces of the First City as a resource, and Archaeologist being used as a secondary variable in recent content, I don’t think that Expertise of the First City would be used in the lab.

I speculate that it’s going to be fieldwork.

Has anyone here accumulated enough Darkness in the Magistracy to see if there’s any content unique to this?

Does anyone know what I’m meant to do with all these damn fins that this place seems to be throwing my way? I would think put them on a skeleton, but they add a whole 50 pence of value and no qualities, so they’re not even worth the action to attach them. Can’t sell them either.

Fins let you declare skeleton as fish, if you’ve done the appropriate research, but that’s not useful yet either.

I have a character that has Level 5 of On the Trail of the Clay Highwayman go to the Clay Quarters.

There is nothing there. I was hoping that there is some content there - like whether any Clay person knew him prior to him becoming a mounted brigand.

Given what we know of him, my first guess would be Polythreme…

Oh yeah… I haven’t checked there.
