Magistracy of Evenlode

Discussion go here.

So there are stories in the Evenlode that require Investigating but I haven’t seen any way to raise said quality. I’m guessing that the 7 Constable Favour option might unlock something? Or I could be barking up entirely the wrong tree.

Investigation comes from cards. And you can probably take some from London?

There is one from that new Canal Workers card.

So, just the statue and spur rail line that gives nothing? Not really complaining, less scrip to grind, so, whatever. Unless I miss something.

Cornelius investigation is only three stages, unless it continues somewhere else.
Fastest is to buy investigatingfrom canal workers for lager.
You can also spend it on clay highwayman.

Turns out my theory about Furnace was right. Go talk to her after you get your investigation of him to 3.

Surprisingly, this is the first time the game has made me genuinely happy to have ratted out the Velocipede Squad. It finally feels good to have been good.

Ha, I guess this was a bug that got fixed – I was cranking my magnanimous on the new Canal Workers on the Upper River card (trading in Docks favours through &quotAssist an out-of-work Gondolier&quot) and got it up over 16, but just played the card again and got &quotMagnanimous has not changedfrom 16 because it’s higher than 9&quot. Oh well…

Does this new constable story requires ever increasing amount of time in Evenlode or what? Cannot see the option past 3, times currently 6.

I haven’t seen that card - the wiki suggests it requires the Docks 25 item? Which I don’t have. Do any other cards offer Investigating? I haven’t seen any yet.

Yes, the Tomb-Colonist one. But it needs medium renown item from them to appear, and Cornelius story at <3 for the option.

Found something kinda sweet.

So that was nice.

I just go to The Flit to raise my investigating. Not sure if it’s worthy it action-wise, but that’s what I do.

Special Dispensation? What is that and how does one get it? Anyone know?

It seems the next step requires 7. I’m as surprised as you are. This could get action-intensive.

So uh… is there any new way to lower Banditry? I’m currently at 9, if I have to lower it 1cp at a time from cards it might be a while before I can join that card game.

Somewhere at the Evenlode, I suppose. Try advancing the storyline there.

Not surprised, just mildly confused due to laziness.
Well, whatever, since I’ve already finished everything else, and maxing Persuasive can wait until Shadowy is unlocked too.

To lower banditry you need the card with a fist - &quotIntervene in an Attack&quot, and there help the old man. Success drops Banditry by an increment, down to zero eventually.

I’ll have you know that the Velocipede Squad and I have donated tons of our money to charitable causes and maintain order and stability, by any means necessary! Besides, the people of London have already acknowledged me as above crime and law (London’s Marrow), so it pains me to see that the Constables of the Evenlode still distrust me. In due time, perhaps…in due time…

For those that met up with the new Constable a few times, they can meet him again at the police barracks. Finishing his initiation opens up a new construction project (diving) in the Evenlode.

I gotta say, I’m loving how Mr Cards is a natural card shark and is abusing their powers in a literal children’s card game, and wonder if there are special options for those that let Beechwood win.

Query: Does anyone know if the Magistracy release also included the final piece of Shadowy Gains?

Edit: I would also like to express disappointment that the Magistracy didn’t find a use for the Unassuming Judge (not that has been found yet, if one is found after this post please disregard). Seems like a missed opportunity.

A heads up: when Diving in the Magistracy, although a mix of dangerous/watchful is recommended it uses mostly watchful. And Nightmares reducting gear comes in very handy too!
PELIGIN!
