Oh, please, please put your discussions about Jericho Locks here. The "Railway is Here!" thread is getting congested.
It seems like most of the cards from Ealing Gardens are still in Jericho, but many of them have new options. Indulge in Illicit Charity has an option where you can gain 2 Winsome Dispossessed Orphans for 20 Rubbery Pies and a Tinned Ham, which you can buy in Jericho. That’s an absurdly good deal if you’re looking for Tribute, since it comes out to a 17.1 Echo savings if you feel like paying the price in pies and Scrip.
Edit: I’m still discovering things, but you can gain a Rumour of the Upper River without an opportunity card or skill check by talking with the Remorseless Archeologist in the Arborists’s Hands. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Landlady gives a Rumour on her option as well. Not game breaking, but it’s nice to get Rumours without relying on your opportunity deck.

Darn. The new content always drops right when I’m about to nod off to sleep, and I’m stuck in the new Shadowy storylet in the Parabolan Base Camp.
There are no other options besides Souvenir shop for station area, right?
I built a library but it’s not mutually exclusive with the souvenir shop.
Once again, I’m blown away by the amount of new content. I’ve only just started to scratch the surface (why did I use my turns today???) and there’s already so much to do!
What do you get out of discovering the locations on the canals? I think I got all of them and reported on them which increased my rank, but I don’t see any use for it (I think I got five locations? I stopped repeating them when I got the same three times in a row). Haven’t thoroughly checked the opportunity deck yet. Saw lots of interesting stuff though.

The Saturnine Gondolier has conversation options which are unlocked at higher Gondola rank. I haven’t unlocked them yet so I don’t know what they involve, just that it will take more than 2 locations.
I’ve noticed that both options for a statue in Jericho Locks involve trading Church Favours for things. I think I’m going to put the Bishop of St. Fiacre back on my board before I return to see if he’s a candidate. If he isn’t, I can boot him easily enough.
Edit: Changed to correct that you can give Church Favours to your own statue for something as well. This is a very Church-centric statue.

Giving church favors to your own statue is delightful. Parabolan research is the devil due to the extra actions to get to and fro along with the honey cost.
Also, I look very handsome in bronze.
The Bishop of Souhtwick gives Strong backed Labor if you build a statue of him.
Favours under the statue of the Dean of Xenotheology gives Warm amber (and parabola research)
I really like the library.
I greatly regret the gift shop.
Well, I’ve just enabled a young gondolier to sail uncharted waters around an unexplored region of Hell. Has anyone found any other ways of raising your A Member of the Gondoliers status?
It looks like you have to build up Esteem with the Guild and spend it on river journeys. If RNG is merciful that would be different journeys and after you report them to other Gondolier your rank in guild rises.
Two journeys for 5 esteem and three for 10. One esteem costs 5e in materials and an action, so if RNG hates you its a bad time.

Thanks. Probably the latter but just to check, does visiting the upper rivers provide more change points than the lower ones or just a better material reward? Got to say I’m hoarding my esteem of the Guild pretty closely seeing how many ranks there are to climb…
Rewards for 10 esteem are worse (EpA wise). But you need reports from different places.
Esteem and the unlocks are linear. Ultimately, you’ll need (in theory) an equal number of Esteem to get the total River Port Reports.
The main issue is the specific spread of resources needed to get Esteem and the fact that some of the stories that provide Esteem can fail while others can’t.
Darn. There goes my hopes of climbing all the way up the guild ranks in one day, but thanks anyway.

Which is the 5e material option for Esteem?
So, yesterday I rushed 3 levels of baggage upgrades through the board and I sold all of my Jasmine Leaves to the Widow on the Minor Smuggling card. I had 241 Leaves and I got 3133 Jade, which is 13x my amount of Leaves exactly. I’ve only done this once so I don’t have proof that this multiplication is true for every time you make the exchange. It’s probably a better way to cash in your Leaves from returning the Honey-Mazed Bear than trading them for Blooms is, although you need to have more of them for this to be worthwhile. Anyway, it’s good to see that there are some upsides to having various board members like the Widow even when you have to navigate around their voting patterns.
Edit: The Bishop of St. Fiacre does indeed have an option for a statue, and it apparently gives out 1-2 Thighs of St. Fiacre upon spending Church Favours.
