I was wondering why nothing had occurred. First time I am ready and waiting for it to pop. I’ve always been months behind before. ‘They’re dragging their bloody feet’ I was thinking. But then, oh yeah, GMT, not the actual time it is here in Blighty. Idiot.
Well, if it was ever slated for 12 GMT then it’s late now by any measure, but as I recall these railroad releases have been pretty reliably delayed throughout, not sure a single one has actually released at the “expected time”. Mind you, I’m not sure they’ve ever actually specified anything beyond a date in these cases, though that has also occasionally slipped.
I suppose, much like the trains, it’ll get here when it gets here.

Too true. At this point I’ve kind of resigned to the updates dropping while I’m either fast asleep or preoccupied with something else late at night.
Meanwhile I’m here trying to get 45 Railway Steel’s worth of Bessemer Steel from the smug git in the top hat.
Meanwhile I’m here trying to get 45 Railway Steel’s worth of Bessemer Steel from the smug git in the top hat.
Really, you can get all the steel you could ever need just by smuggling in the hinterlands. Trade snuff for petals, trade petals for steel, and be sure to occasionally rat on the highwayman’s gang to keep banditry in check (do a turn in Helicon house if you run out of Investigating). I’ve finished this leg of tracklaying and I have 15 railway steel and 1400 bessemer ingots still in stock. The stuff just builds up.
Station is now available. Dress warmly, folks.
You can, in fact, build a statue to your Overgoat.
Separate Übergoat statue option confirmed. I haven’t got a heptagoat, but I’d hazard a guess it’s there.
I see that Protection from the Elements is now called Neathproofed. Maybe that already happened earlier, but if it did I hadn’t noticed.
Interesting. It seems both options to venture out in to the cold require an item I picked up during my ambition. This can’t be a Light-Fingers-only storylet I don’t imagine, so I suppose if you don’t have that item you see something else. It’s funny how sometimes FL shows you the options unavailable to you with the lacking qualities or items greyed out, and sometimes it just straight-up hides the options that aren’t available to you. Is there a rule for which method they use that I haven’t picked up on, or is it just random?
Separate Übergoat statue option confirmed. I haven’t got a heptagoat, but I’d hazard a guess it’s there.
Correct, there’s an option to put up a statue honouring your Heptagoat.
And how do I find Neatproofed items. No tag for that in Possessions that I can see.
I believe the default in Storynexus is that if the requirement is more than you have then it’s visible, but if it’s less than you have then it’s not. This lets you see what you need to accomplish to unlock the next step, while (usually) hiding the parts of the story that you’ve already played. However these are merely defaults, and can be overriden.
I think one general rule is that they hide options which you can never qualify for. Which is what the LF option is doing in this case. It’s not possible for a player to lose their Everlasting candle, if you have one you will never be eligible for the non-Candle options, so there’s no reason to show them.
As an aside, the Everlasting candle was tied to the… anomalous… darkness around the Orphanage. Should I be reading anything into the fact that we’re using the Candle in a situation related to Discordance? Is the Orphanage’s darkness related to the Hurlers in any way?
Snort: I don’t know. My method was the tried and tested ‘Looking through my stuff’ approach. My items with that quality mostly came from stuff we got at Whitsun last year. Furry boots, coat, gloves, and an unquenchable firebird. But I am also currently wearing a hellish hymn on my head (however that works - perhaps it means I am singing it?)

I do wonder what happens if you keep stoking the stove all the way up to eight. A fire? An explosion?
Correct, there’s an option to put up a statue honouring your Heptagoat.
Could you tell us what it says about the effects?
Übergoat statue, for anyone curious, is hell favors to collated research.
Here we go HERE WE GO oh dammit how do I-
Edit: NOPE that didn’t work. Alright, I’m still stumped on how to help the Deviless read the stones properly.

Charity is 1 cp per curio, and it breaks out at 5. Description says certain Master (Stones, I guess) will visit the Upper River deck - anyone met him already?
Is there a better way to obtain Curios than failing to dig things up?
Not that we know of.
Raise the Darkness to 7 (candles at the stove), the diffuculty will spike dramatically.
