[quote=Tsar Koschei]Ah, maybe I’ve misunderstood something on the wiki, I thought it said you were locked out of the action with Discordant Studies – which you initially gain from performing the action? But perhaps there’s another version for after you’ve done if the first time?

I didn’t record it on the wiki, but yes, there’s an option which requires Studies 2. If I remember right, it locks at Steward 7, so either there’s a third option available or my Doubled Deviless will actually have applications… after a while.

So does that mean that the Nadir visits are actually a repeatable way to raise Steward by a point per week?

Or is the Steward gain only on the first time, and not upon returning?

I’m guessing nobody’s actually been able to verify this yet with the timing and all?

I’ll certainly check. Once I leave the Boatman.

If you want to learn chess, study Discordance. You’ll be spending a plenty of time with Boatman.

You do get another point per week. My visit to the Nadir this morning is what bumped my Steward quality up to 5.

Another tip here: if your character is &quotplaying&quot with the Carnivourous Aurochs, this option is much more useful.
You are going to be accumulating a lot of Nightmares anyway.

It appears that I am in need of a discordant missive, whatever that might be. Should someone have the capacity to provide me with one, I would be most grateful.

I’ve just tested it, and it appears that yes: It does seem to be a repeatable way to raise Steward. Get a Law from the Hurler stones, get into the Nadir, fiddle with the hole in your head, watching your Steward progress bar increase agonisingly slowly.

I’ve sent you my calling card. If you accept, I can send you one in a jiffy

5+6+7 weeks to max it out? This is cruel.

Having gone into the content quite some ways, there are not a lot of reasons to grind up that quality yet. There are few challenges that use Steward of the Discordance, and what there are, there are more reliable alternatives.

To those awaiting letters from me: Apologies, I’ve been logged out for some inane reason and the servers on my end at least seem to be dying.

Sigh.
Black.png don’t seem over-used.

P.S. The player character will sigh too.

I would also appreciate a missive, if anyone can spare one.

EDIT: I have now received one. Thank you!

I seem to require a missive as well and I am willing to send one to anyone in need.

CORRECTION: If you are looking for repeatable means of raising Steward of the Discordance, only one piece of the content in the Adulterine Castle has a repeatable method.

It gobbles a 1560 item.
It reduces two of your main stats by 100 CP each.
And for just one - one - measly CP of Steward of Discordance.

You really don’t want this.

What?? Heads-up? I thought the whole point was for us to keep our heads down and keep banging them against the stones.

I updated my post. There is one repeatable method, and it is BAD.

Without spoiling too much, I will say you can keep banging your head against the stones to raise Steward of the Discordance after you’ve gone through the whole story. It’s just…the rest of the banging happens in the Cave of the Nadir, not the Adulterine Castle.

So… it seems like slow and steady at the Nadir really might be the most attractive option here? You may only get one point per week, but it still sounds better than the way Rostygold outlines above.

I don’t know if the Nadir option has a cap. I know that it works at level 4 of the quality, but higher? I don’t know.

Does anyone know?
