Thank you! I really appreciate how thoughtful Failbetter is about player experience, so responsive to both technical issues and player concerns, even down to something like this that just a short-term period of inconvenience that was entirely not Failbetter’s fault. Thinking about it, I don’t think I’ve ever engaged with an ongoing, for-profit creative work/product/service that showed such consistent care for its audience over such a long period of time, through so many changes.

I’m not sure if this is a bug or it’s done as intended.
Same item, but different requirements to redeem it.
Main character, few years old: Needs ‘The Chap on the Corner’ and ‘Ex-Privateer Charter Clerk’.
Alt character, born Aug 2025: Needs 2x Docks and 2x Constables favours.
I believe it’s intended.
If you have low Renown with Docks and Constables, you can redeem the Crew with Favours.
If you have high Renown, you can get the Crew with the Docks and Constable Faction Companions instead.
You can get a Chap on the Corner with 25 Constable Renown and 5 Constable Favours in the Flit.
If you have less than 25 Constable Renown, on the other hand, it looks like a bug.

I think it’s a little odd that the low-Renown option requires fewer favors than what it takes to get the Faction companions in the first place, but perhaps they’re being more gentle on players assumed to be lower-level.
They do need to make sure that low-level players have something to spend Confessions on, and quite a few of the new items have late-game or Fate requirements this year. I’m actually not sure you can spend all your Confessions unless you’ve met the Candlefinder Society, which requires completing 2 MYN lines.

For my alt who was born in August 2025, he can redeem using a grand total of… 7 confessions. 7 out of 14, that’s 50%. The redemptions pick you, you do not pick the redemptions. 
9 confessions, if Docks Renown can hit 10 before the end of the event…
To get Candlefinder Society, you need to make the Watchful MYN reach level 7, and that means finishing the University storyline, instead of keeping it unfinished and not locking yourself out of the lucrative carousel there.
Which I don’t recommend newbies (like my alt) do, no matter how tempting the event rewards dangled in front of you are. 
I think FBG really needs to address that carousel one way or another. It’s not good for the game that so many players choose not to advance stories because there’s a useful carousel in the middle.

It’s been a long time since I paid attention to it. What is the carousel lucrative for?
You can actively grind Sudden Insights to boost your Watchful.
Small tip for those not already doing so: if you draw the visit from the manager card you can pick up the nightmare increasing burden he gives you which can help with the moth-masqued grind.

There’s a button on the profile page (found under the “Myself” tab. The button just says “Change Face.”

Thank you. I already went to prison but the chance is strong that I will miscalculate my menaces again this Hallowmas. So it will be useful next time I mess up:)

Just send suspicion and scandal dumps to your alt, nightmare and wounds clear from same alt to main. And keep them forever as panic button for cases when you accidentally step over the edge.

Not everyone plays with an alt. At times like this it might be useful but I really don’t want to play another character.
